Rageblade on hit effects?

Dane Belthound··1 votes·2,562 views

I am trying to figure out who to use rageblade on but I am unclear as to what procs the double on hit effects.

Does crit count? Lifesteal? Jinx rockets aoe damage or the 10 percent extra ad?

I am specifically looking at adcs. I have seen it a lot on varus but am not sure why. I know it is good, just unclear what impacts it.

The phantom hit does no base damage on its own (it didn't when it was on Sated Devourer either), just duplicates what on-hit effects you have. Because of the lack of base damage, lifesteal won't proc unless you have an on-hit effect that is effected by life steal, like Blade of the Ruined King or Ravenous Hydra.

Jinx rockets are bugged with it; apparently, the 10% bonus damage was supposed to be able to proc on Phantom Hit doesn't.

Varus's W has base on-hit magic damage that is effected by rageblade, as well as having massive attack speed from his passive.

Rageblade applies things like the on-hit from Kog Maw's W or Kai'Sa's passive on-hit damage, and things that stack on-hit like Vayne's Silver Bolts or Kai'Sa's Caustic Wounds stack faster with phantom hit.

It used to stack Caitlyn's headshot faster, but this interaction was removed as a result of the removal of her Headshot's interaction with Runaan's Hurricane.

These are just a few examples of what Phantom Hit applies, as far as marksmen are concerned.

does it still have that silly interaction with jhin where it puts his AD on steroids?

Yes it does, but the question was about what the phantom hit applies, and Jhin's AD being put on steroids comes from the %Bonus AD Multiplier and the Attack Speed Modifier setting his AD to absurd amounts, not the Phantom Hit. (The %bonus AD and AP means that you probably shouldn't focus only on the Phantom Hit though; a lot of champions who picked up rageblade before that change (and Sated Devourer before it) bought the items because of that passive, but the %AP and AP means it shouldn't be the only thing you consider when you decide to pick it up).
