Question on Autofill in Ranked

When is Riot removing autofill in ranked? They fucked up royally last season by implementing dynamic queue in "Solo Queue" last season. Now, I feel like someone in the office was put up to a bet to see if they can somehow top last season's fuck up.

Autofill is the WORST thing I've seen in ranked. Keep that garbage in normals. Difference with ranked and normals is that ranked is suppose to be competitive. How the fuck is rngesus competitive while the other team gets their preferred and EXPERIENCED roles?

So far, all 3 scenarios have come up in what is supposedly suppose to be a competitive environment. I've either been forced to dodge because I got riot'd with that garbage autofill in ranked, I've been forced to play with someone who has no clue how to play mid or support and feeds because Riot forced him to feed and bring the red cross over to the enemy team, or I've been in a hostage situation where someone gets autofilled and troll picks unless he gets his role or forces someone else to dodge. And if no one dodges, we getpunished. We shouldn't get punished or even dodge and take the penalty so another inbred can get away for free.

Take out autofill from ranked at the very least. Keep it in norms at least, but keep ranked competitive. Else, you might as well make a ranked section for ARAM. Can I get a red to try and explain to me why even KEEP autofill in ranked after months of garbage? Queue times are not worth it for a competitive scene. Either get rid of ranked, or remove role selection and keep it randomized for both teams like the early seasons, first pick order.

I mean, if you're like me, you're smart enough to learn every role before going into ranked for the chance that you'll get autofilled. Sure, I'm best at top/jg, but, since I've played the other roles enough, I'm more than able to handle myself in those situations. If someone on your team cries? Offer to switch, be a bigger person. It's not hard to manage.

Sure, i try to offer as long as I don't end up mid. My point is, some people can't do that. It gives the other team a clear advantage. Even if they have someone who is slightly okay in other roles, they are still possibly forced to play against someone who is at their best in the role they chose. That's the problem. Autofill forces a handicap in a competitive scenario. Even if you can fill slightly, they still have an unfair advantage over you that shouldn't be there to begin with.

They did fuck this up for me and the rest of the support mains few months ago but they seemed to have fixed that since recently in ranked and flex my win rate has increased with autofill been fixed for support pickers.

I can play other roles but in ranked im way better as a team player support than a carry.

Sadly when autofill messed up season 7 I've been less interested in ranked ever compared to the previous seasons way to many players threatening to take a match hostage that it still scars me.

Just the thought of me trying to go back to ranked sometimes just makes me fear that one guy is gonna be beyond help and just drag the whole team down I've even seen this happen to enemy teams :(. I know this happened in previous seasons but this one the player's ranked behaviour is much worse.

I agree, it sucks. I just want a red to attempt to even explain to me why we still have it. I understand why they brought it in the first place, but clearly it's not worth it. So why do we still have it. That's what I want explained.

They've been mostly hush hush about this.

Its never a good sign when massive complaints get ignored, riot cannot blame this on the massive popularity of the game, tournaments, merch, etc because this is a big problem to competitive players.

We just have to wait and see if riot would give in.

I do think autofill should get removed for players in bronze and silver.

I do understand my fellow players in these elos get mad if they dont get top or mid (lucky for them i play mostly support even off meta supports) but its such a detriment to those elos which can lead to players getting toxic af in the lobby before the game even starts.

I've seen players on both teams who refuse to cooperate with others because of some silly arguement in the lobby over roles or someone just started swearing for no reason which causes more players to get mad.

Did a ranked game today, i won it but it wasn't easy. this had nothing to do with autofill but it can be such a chore to calm an entire team down from constantly flaming and trying to explain strageties to them.

had a jungler who flamed my adc at 16 minutes into the game for taking red buff and it was a poppy you know... a melee champion.

I had to explain to her that caitlyn will need the red buff in order for our team to win fights since it causes bonus true damage like a twitch passive and deals slows per auto attack. But our jungler went full bonkers on our asses for taking her red buff 4 times. 3 to my caitlyn and one time i had to ks the red buff off poppy while i was sona since I know how to use it well in team fights.

I know this was a bit off topic but.... imagine if my team got angry over autofill we would've had an afk in no time which would've lead us to a big loss.

Nobody likes autofill. However, it is a necessary evil to avoid the 15-20 minute queue times when the new champion select was released without autofill. People saying they get 15-20 minutes now because of autofill are exaggerating. At very worst it gets to 10 with it, if anyone dodges at all. 15-20 minutes was the norm though without autofill and god forbid someone dodge after you finally get into draft because the game decided someone had to be autofilled after 20 minutes.

I'd rather wait 20-30 min than give the enemy team an advantage of 5v3 and 2 handicapped in a competitive scenario

You're in the minority then. The vast majority prefer it this way. The amount of complaining about autofill now is nothing compared to the complaining about the queue times before. You're either going to have to dodge, learn other roles for the 1 in 5 games you get it, or play a different mode/game.
