She's gutted now to a point where even I feel sorry for her, but she's just one of those designs where I feel like it should've been obvious from the very start that she was going to be extremely and fundamentally unhealthy. On my own side, I generally like to play jungle, and my favorite junglers tend to be juggernaut-type champions, i.e. champions with low range and mobility, but good durability and damage, and perhaps some CC if we're feeling generous (e.g. Skarner). When Kalista was in the game, I basically couldn't play any of those champions with her on the other team because I would be able to do literally nothing against her. I generally avoid using categorical statements, but it really felt like there was literally nothing I could do against her, because she could keep herself at a safe distance at all times without interacting with me at all. Not only did her jump allow her to outrange me with no cost or downtime, it also meant she could ignore anything I did land on her, because in League of Legends dashes cause you to ignore all crowd control while in action, save for displacement and suppression. Even when I did land a slow or stun on her, she just ate most of it up, then kept on plinking me to death. Playing against Kalista as a melee champion to me is just about one of the most soul-sucking experiences I have ever had in a videogame, and I do not ever want to repeat that if I can avoid it.
