Why take the advice from boards when you can just look at sites that track Bronze win-rates for every lane?

there isnt one for bronze on champion.gg, its only plat and higher, and lolking doesnt seem very accurate, and you cant see all top laners
You're going to need a citation for how you know Lolking isn't very accurate, considering they buy their information from Riot.
The Riot API is free to use, they don't need to buy their information. I've got a functionally identical copy of the license that LoLKing uses, only took time and a working demo to get it.
Accuracy is all up to how a certain website interprets what they get. Riot doesn't provide the win rates of champions or anything like that, they provide the match data, then websites go and save a bunch of it and draw their own conclusions. Part of the reason champion.gg doesn't release their stats until a few days into the patch is to ensure accuracy, but not everyone holds themselves to that same standard.
Either way you can look at it by individual days anyways

he is always a threat. Scales lategame but has early game damage. Long range, spammable, aoe poke, global ult THAT HITS EVERYONE. Massive aoe dot, massive aoe slow/ mr reduction, one of if not the most op passive. Can't win lane easily or opponent is up a kill? Press r and get assists and kills without leaving lane. Can run exhaust top lane because he does not have to tp to participate in fights (r)

are all GREAT top laners for low elo. My personal favorite is
, but they're gonna be reworking him a little bit soon.

Only actually good list on this thread. lol
=] ty GP is a bit of a stretch, but i think some silver players would excel with him.

KARMA! KARMA EVERYWHERE! (Coming from a new-to karma main)
I logged in last night right when my buddy got into champion select. He picked karma for a top laner hoping to troll and have someone leave game so we could play. Well no one left so he went
vs
.
Their team ended up winning and he had fun. But shhhh don't tell anyone about her.

Not a true karma top then :( went like, 14/0/6 or something last time EDIT http://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/NA1/2099895972/229933297?tab=overview Found it lol
any juggernut, garen darius illaoi mundo volibear all these BS champs.
Whatever you get good at.
Becoming comfortable and skilled with a specific champ in a specific role will get you much farther than "power picks", unless you're a literal pro gamer.
With that said, simple and binary champions who are very capable of punishing your laner (and the enemy jungler) and killing them are a safe bet. Most champions can do this, but some are much better at it than others. Champions like
are good examples, but really.. It comes down to comfort and practice. If you're a strong
top you'll get a lot farther playing that and learning better lane dynamics, rather than simply switching over to
or
because "muh winrate".

Literally all of those champions have bad winrates including the two you used as an example for "muh winrate" don't listen to this guy he's not even trying to sound like he knows what he's talking about.

Just use this objective information on what wins the most in specific brackets instead of listening to subjective opinions from people who like to pretend they know what they're talking about.
Panth cho renekton and garen are all very easy to learn and very good champions You could always just play Quinn and trash the tanks of the opponent who have no idea how to farm/fight a ranged opponent
Dairus it a good top laner will destroy a game

I'd suggest Heimerdinger. Turn enemy ganks into double kills for you!
I'd suggest heimerdinger if you want to get camped by the enemy jungler.
Anything tanky with decent engage / high damage or that has a low learning curve. So something like these champions
