How do you counter Nasus in lane?

People said get "LW " so I did but it was some how not enough to kill him? he got frozen heart at the same time as I got LW. -.-

This champion feels pretty damn OP.. I mean... His passive and ult gives him health, he can SPAM his wither that heavily slows down people for a very long time and he drops the circle thing that reduces a lot of your crap -_- then you have his Q that has a mega short cool down with a mega low amount of mana cost that is able to one shot you with a certain amount of stacks. -.- And not only that, his Q also allows him to destroy towers/buildings quick AF.

And in ALL of that, he is able to be SUPER tanky, he doesn't need any AD items he has his Stacks/Q /Circle thing to do his job.

You should deny his farm early game with harass since a good nasus player wont waste mana/cooldowns on you, he will go for minions. He will eventually get too low and be bullied out of lane allowed you to take CS, get ahead, and permanently keep him out of lane.

to sum it up, get a early-game oriented champion.

If I were to get him out of lane he would farm under the turret and freeze the lane. What the hell am I supposed to do from there? because if I'm close to his turret I'm sure as hell I'm going to get ganked -_- and then when I leave lane people say " don't leave lane, don't let him farm"

well shit dude what am I supposed to do? watch him farm under the turret for each set of minutes when He's pushed out of lane?

If you get him out of lane, simply last hit and wait for him to TP back as alot of them will run TP since ignite is useless on nasus. If you make him go back again, just last hit and freeze the lane yourself.

BTW pro tip to NEVER getting ganked and the most OP item in the game that will carry you to gold.

Ward. only 75-100 gold. OMFG OP.

Nasus is fucking freelo. Honestly, people say fuck him early, but how can you really do it? He has sustain from passive, his Q really doesn't have a high cooldown, he typically starts cloth 5, so go ahead and try to harass him as minions fuck you, any gank attempt is stopped by a simple wither, and teleport allows for him to come back after you actually fucking succeed at harassing him down, and good luck at pushing him out of lane after he gets frozen heart, which gives 100 fucking armor, 400 mana for more spam, 20% cdr for more spam, and slows your attacks.

Also, Quinn works great. Focus on her E at level 1, and keep it on CD on Nasus as much as you can. So long as their jg doesn't come top for an early gank you can usually harass the living hell out of him with just 3-4 E from Quinn. They key is to wait for Valor to mark him, AA>E>AA let E CD, etc. You'll be amazed at how quick Nasus' hp plummets and how little farm he'll get.

Alternatively, you can nicely ask your jg to gank frequently.

There are plenty of champions who counter Nasus either early game or late game, and there are plenty of strategies that allow a team to put him down with little to no threat to themselves. I, however, am not going to touch on any of that.

League of Legends is an objective based game, and only objectives will cause you to win or lose. Kills put you in a better or worse situation, but all they do is allow you to take objectives. Nasus is fantastic at taking objectives, however he is rather bad at defending them. If you and your team rotate between objectives you can force Nasus's team into a situation where Nasus has to come and help before he is prepared to help.

Force down a tower somewhere, then roam to the other two outer towers and force them down. Continue forcing down towers and use your map control to get as many dragon stacks as you safely can. Be where Nasus is not, and where his team is not prepared. You will need at least one person who is able to duel with Nasus, however unless it's a long match you and your team should be able to easily out push him if he attempts a base race.

It does not matter if Nasus has OP sustain, far too much tankyness and damage that can 1v5 in the correct situation, if you take out his nexus before he takes out yours you win, end of story.

But nasus can push hard o.o he can destroy turrets hard too. If you watch Trick2g or Sirchez you'll see where I'm coming from because people are copying their play style :/

I've seen that, and the teams who face a Nasus like that do not play in a particularly smart manner. You rotate and goon squad the Nasus, then push.

Ganks. Ideally mid and jungle should gank early at least 3 times.

As other people have said, make sure he doesn't farm. This goes without saying for any champion but for top laners (and Nasus especially,) he depends on farm;

  • Farm=Items/build ---->
  • Items/Build=Early game kills --->
  • Early kills=Fed --->
  • Fed Nasus=ggwp

If you can't do it with a melee champion, use a ranged champion. People like vayne and kayle ruin his day. They can harass him with basically no retaliation. Especially Kayle, she can build mixed damage so nasus can't just rush a spirit visage or rush a iceborn gauntlet for his 1st item and walk over you. Also Kayle can kite him hard with a slow and movespeed buff( don't forget the additional slow you could get for building a hextech gunblade or similar item). They also have the benefit of scaling nearly as hard as he does.

You guys are giving me champions to counter him, I KNOW that but this is when you have first pick.

I think Darius is a pretty good counter to him. Prior to level 6, Darius hits pretty hard, and Noxian Guillotine is a good finisher for bypassing his armor, plus his greater range with Decimate and Apprehend would deter Nasus most of the time.

Above all, NEVER LEAVE NASUS ALONE. If he's building stacks, put a stop to him. Make him work for his stacks. Poke him, force him into trades, do whatever you need to to minimize the number of stacks he'll get.

HateDaddy1 votes

Well let's start with this:

Who do you commonly pick? Some champions don't have a snowballs chance in hell at slowing Nasus down. Irelia, Malphite, Shen, Cho'Gath etc aren't really going to slow him down. They can be annoying, they can brawl a lot but they won't flat out deny him.

In fact, I think the idea of "denying" Nasus is a bad idea in the first place. It's 2015 in league of legends, unless you're playong extremely snowbally champions who kill the enemy every time they see them once they get ahead and thus, deny them by the virtue of killing them over and over, nobody really gets denied. Global gold, objective gold so on make it too hard to do this. Your goal isn't to deny, it's to slow him down. An average Nasus in a good lane will get 300 bonus damage on his Q by 20 minutes, you want to crank that down by about 100-150. Even 250 isn't that bad.

You need to also realize that Nasus is actually at his best mid game, not late game. Mid game, if he's able to get some farm, he's most effective in teamfights. He will usuaiy have 1-2 tank items, enemies will have no armor or magic pen (unless grossly fed), enemies will be under leveled since he's a solo laner and as a result their will be much longer, so he's harder to kite and kill. Flat armor pen is probably at its best at this stage too, and the base magic damage from his E and Ult can be pretty big mid game too. This is what you want to deny, and you CAN deny this from happening.

Nasus' spells aren't spammable at all early either and aside from his q, his mana costs are high. His q is 20 at all levels but wither is 80 at all levels and spirit Fire is 75 at level 1, increasing by 15 each level. And his E and W cooldowns are both 15 seconds a piece at level 1, spirit fires base CD never changes and withers CD drops a second for each point. He also has the worst base mana pool of any champion in the game and his base mana regen isn't great either. Point is, he can't trade much so he has to play from a position of defense early (don't mistake this for he can't trade because he can, you just can't force the issue every time).

There are chamoions who beat him in lane and champions who just outscale him in teamfights. Champions who easily handle him in lane are champions like Gnar, Olaf and Darius. Champs like Rumble, Swain, Lissandra, Azir, etc can easily slow him down. Champions like ChoGath, Singed and Trundle can't really stop his farming, but they can legit shit on his teamfight and hold his split push forever because of their wave clear and absurd late game tankyness making them practically impossible to die.

Without knowing who you're playing, I can't rightfully say what you should/shouldn't do. But I can say rushing a last whisper is terrible, you should never do this under any circumstances. I don't know who you played so that's as far as I can comment on that. And really, I don't have much else to say.

Out cs him , do not let him farm . Gank him with the jungler when he doesn't have ult and when he comes back be in the bush with the jungler and gank him again . Now he doesn't have teleport and he has lost 2 waves . From there on you will not let him touch a minion with his Q . Do not prolong the game , he will auto win . Try to corner his team into mid game fights , he'll be useless .

I'm thinking. I'm not sure, but Thornmail should repel just about any, on-hit, physical damage. I would Really love to see Nasus' Siphon strike work against him.

If you let Nasus farm and get a tank item to "ignore" your trades, you have failed at denying him stacks/money.

It's extremely frustrating when he can Q minions as you engage then turn around and win a 1v1 with Q-sustain and wither.

I typically run Cho'Gath or Quinn against him and try to prevent him from getting the money to complete a tier 3 item as long as possible. (Eventually vs Quinn he freelos the lane due to armor though.)

He's just a frustrating pushing champion that you can't play passively against. You need some sort of strategy to deny him farming.

Drunk Rummate1 votes

you either pick a lane bully who can kill him repeatedly or you take his tower quickly and roam to try and win the game before he reaches 500+ stacks.
