Advice on here (Forums) doesnt work.

These forums as far as the gameplay ones aren't tailored to advice. Most of people on here were helped, climbed quickly or never experience certain low level leagues. So, they cannot relate nor are they qualified to give opinion based of off guessing.

Alright Lyless, I'm back. I've spectated a few of your games so I'm no longer going to give you basic advice.

The first thing you need to work on is your speed at using skills. You appear to hesitate every time you go to cast something, including warding with your trinket. It honestly looks like you're clicking your skills with your mouse, but I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt on that one. Just jump into customs from time to time to work on casting your spells quickly. If you're feeling adventurous try turning on quick casting.

The second thing you need to work on is CSing. Go into a custom and practice last hitting minions only. Do not auto attack them. I watched you get 9 CS by 7 minutes as Ashe. Look up a few guides if you need to, but getting last hitting figured out will give you a lot more gold (and therefore items) to work with, so make it a priority.

The last thing is your decisiveness. I don't know how many times I saw you walk back and forth doing nothing. You need to make up your mind and just do something. It doesn't matter if you made the wrong decision, figuring out what is the correct decision will come with practice, so for now just work on actually deciding and acting upon it. The less time you spend doing nothing the better.

Working on these three things should give you a good foundation to build off of when improving other aspects of your play. We've been assuming you had this foundation to begin with, so I'm very sorry about the ineffective advice.

This is my problem. Why would you view the game I played as Ashe? I haven't played an ADC for months. I don't plan on doing it again. I will take you advice about the first thing you mentioned however.

What games did you see?

OrphanerDualscar4 votes

Well regardless, you need to work on your CSing, it's an important part of mid and top lane as well. (Since you seem to play a lot of Cho Gath) Farming is a huge part of the game and you need it even if you're absolutely stomping your lane. The bigger the gold lead you have against your opponent, the better.

It was a game where you were duo with a silver 4 who played Veigar support. I watched a number of games, and that one just happened to be one of them.

You don't always play jungle, and as such you have to learn how to last hit. That was just the most striking example. You have played other games, specifically as Cho'Gath, where you have farmed almost as poorly as that.

And this is why nobody's advice works for you. This person is being completely polite and reasonable, and he's trying to help you out. Meanwhile, you're sitting here jamming your fingers into your ears and ignoring at least two thirds of what he said.

This kind of attitude shows that you aren't actually looking advice. You'd rather just sit there and blame your teams or the matchmaking system for everything.

Nobody can help someone who refuses to be helped. Either get over yourself and actually take the advice you're asking for to heart, or stop wasting people's time with your incessant posts.

The advice doesn't work for me. I don't blame my team anymore. I do blame the matchmaking. And you have made so many assumptions. None of you get it. This all could have been avoided if you guys had done one thing.

Technically means you still blame your teammates.

"Help you" doesn't seem to be the exact response you're expecting judging from how you backlash at all the advice given to you, so what's the point for you to even mentioned?

And also, I was in this thread BeatzBoyFTW was in:

I saw the post where he made about suggesting a few video links for you to record (I tink its Lolreplay if I remembered) and you said okay, but why the sudden thread delete doe? I seriously doubt it's removed by Riot Boards as it was still posted for more than 2 days.

Were you honest about NOT wanting help at all and you're just here to troll?

How are you not wrong? Prove to me that you're not wrong. You've been Bronze 5 for how many seasons now? People have offered you advice (learn to cs is one of them) and you just blow them off saying their advice is crap. Watch high elo play and watch their cs...that is one reason they are in high elo and you are stuck in Bronze.

So explain to me how you are wrong?

You are wrong. Because I just dealt with the same thing in back to back games. My teams. One going afk for a long stretch the other stay bot and not helping the team when all 5 of enemy team pushed mid. So my second game was 3 vs 5. The first one what happens again the support decides to just randomly roam not help and what happens? We lose why for a majority of the game Taric just roamed the map. You tell me how I a suppose to constantly, not every so often, but constantly overcome that. 1 out 3 games that average in happens to me. That why my w/l is what it is. It almost never happens to the enemy team. Never.

BladeSteel1 votes

I have won 3v5's before. I have won 4v5's. Your point is irrelevant. "randomly roam"...guess what..in higher elos supports are supposed to roam. And you are exaggerating, everyone knows that. Grow up little boy and admit that you are wrong. That is how you grow. If you want to get better LOOK AT YOURSELF NOT YOUR TEAM and GET BETTER.

you winning that a couple times doesn't disprove the rule. You are wrong! The point is the odds are against you doing so. But you don't get logic and reasoning.

The odds are against you. The majority of players aren't in bronze. So the odds are against you sorry poor little boy. Maybe someday you'll get your head out of your butt and realize that the entire world isn't about you. Grow up. Learn to learn. And stop being a little baby.

If you don't want people to talk to you then don't post on a public forum. As I said before, if you keep posting like this I'll keep trying to help.

Once you get those three things done I would suggest learning a bit about rune and mastery pages. Your setups are a bit less than optimal.

You don't play many champions so you should be able to easily dedicate a rune page to each of your primary picks. You can also have up to 20 mastery pages, so try making one for each champion as well. You can rename them so you don't get them mixed up in champion select.

I accepted your friends offer, but cannot play a game with us.

I figured as much.

Please just keep in mind that I'm not making fun of you when I'm being critical of things you do. The only reason I bother pointing out flaws is because I think you can fix them. There is clearly something that's driving you to keep trying, so if we can get you on the right path you should easily be able to put that drive to use and get you into gold or higher.

I may have more knowledge than you on certain things, but you have motivation. I don't want you to play another 500 games and still be in bronze. You can do better, and I and others want to help you achieve it.

I honestly think you're making a mistake here. I know redniwediS irl and have been playing with him for about two years. He's always very helpful and has a lot of knowledge about the game. He gives great advice and we all receive it well and it helps us become better players. If you don't want to play with him when you play with us, that's fine. But he really does want to help you out. He's been very polite in giving you advice, and the way you've been treating him when he's trying to help is very rude.

Well your friend Byakuren said we aren't on now for the game tonight. Everything I have been saying is right about him and redniwediS

You know why? Because you're being very rude to redniwediS. If you aren't going to respect him then there's no reason for Byakuren and I, his friends, to help you out. You are clearly very unwilling to accept help and advice that you are given.

I should take advice from someone who insulted me in the past? And you offered the help, I didn't ask for it. So, now you guys say things you don't mean? Is that how you friends operate? Either you keep your word or never really wanted to help, which I never asked for. It's up to u.

I guess we'll just ignore the variety of insults you've thrown my way then...

Twiggles5 votes

I get that you want to help him, and I think you've done a better job of trying than anyone else in any his threads.

However, sometimes it's just best to accept that some people cannot be, or simply do not want to be helped. I won't try to stop you from helping him or anything like that (how ridiculous would that be?), but I will suggest that your time would be better spent on more receptive (not to mention less abrasive) individuals.

End of the day, do whatever you want/think is right. But I wouldn't get my hopes up on getting through to this person. If you do though, then you will have accomplished something nobody else has.

You are getting paired with the worst possible people because you have been judged to have a similar skill level.

Until you improve your play, you will continue getting matched with them because that is where you currently belong.

If you can't acknowledge this, you won't improve.

Tbh, the links I sent in your deleted thread above (which you deleted out of shame) didn't really work well, since I can record but no idea how to share it. So use this instead:

https://obsproject.com/

It's a lot easier, and use "Monitor Capture" on the Add settings, and then change the video settings in the in-game settings from Windowed to Borderless. Use this to record all the gameplay you've been doing, and from there, after you finished recording, share it to Youtube & post the video URL in Boards. From there, people can help you with your mistakes & having the proof of your own teammates' misplays (since you oh so claim so much)

I will keep posting this comment if I have to. Everyone knows that this is the one & only true way to improve, and is the only way to end your hobby of "whining constantly on Boards".

EDIT: Still waiting for a Lyless response.

You don't get it!?!? I being screwed out of wins by this system. You can't pair me with worse team possible and expect me to win with them when they aren't even trying. You don't want to talk because this doesn't happen you nearly every game. There is no amount of "help" that can solve other that getting me better team that don't sabotage you every time you play.

Is that why people who are better than you can come in and force your team to win? If they couldn't you wouldn't be trying to duo with smurfs.

We're trying to get you to improve. I'm going to be blunt here; you play like someone who just hit level 30. There are a lot of mistakes you have to work on in order to start climbing, but every time we point those mistakes out you yell at us and think we're insulting you.

You've played over 500 ranked games this year alone, and this isn't even your first year of ranked play! I haven't even played 100 ranked games in the six years I've been playing, and yet I made it to gold. You keep playing, but unless you actually focus on fixing your mistakes you won't make any progress.

You're obsessed with your team and the matchmaking system when you should be looking at your inability to CS, your indecisiveness, your lack of knowledge when it comes to runes and masteries, and the incredibly slow speed at which you use your skills (which you've already made a bit of progress on). You are a bronze 5 player because you would rather blame something else than fix your own mistakes. It doesn't matter what rank your account is if you play like the bottom 3% of the League community.

THAT is what I get. Your team doesn't matter if you are always going to be dead weight. We keep trying to help you fix your mistakes. Let us help you for goodness sake.

I'm here saying you may be making mistakes but I think you can do better, where as you are blaming the matchmaking system and yelling at me. As usual you're not focusing on your own actions.

As I said I already acknowledged one thing you've improved on, and I will gladly continue to do so if you actually improve. Practice your CSing, practice casting faster, and be more decisive.

You don't get it. I am in a hole. Even if I improve. I have nearly every game to get out of Bronze. Two wins and one loss is the same, if not more of point loss. Unless you can come with a way for me to win every game this is hopeless.

You are basing my improving on winning more, and I am but it not mattering because just one loss cancels out any 1,2,3 or 4 wins I have.

redniwediS3 votes

No, you don't get it. I base improving your CSing by how many minions you last hit per wave. I base improving your decisiveness by how little time you spend doing nothing. I base improving your casting speed on how quickly you cast. It's not about winning at all, it's about getting better at core aspects of the game. These are the same exact things I look for in my own games when I'm trying to improve.

You are not in a hole. That is the "elo hell" mindset to a tee. That mindset has been shown time and again to be self fulfilling prophecy. You're keeping yourself down simply by believing it. Don't focus on winning until you're out of bronze, focus on playing like a silver player. Once you hit silver focus on playing like a gold player, and so on.

Climbing in ranked is all about self improvement, not winning or losing. "Elo hell" is a fallacy you have to stop believing in if you have any intention to stop playing like a bronze player.

redniwediS1 votes

You're not the first one to think like this, and you won't be the last to start climbing when you stop thinking like this.

The points are adjusted by the ranked system to try and keep you where you appear to belong. Your job is to show it that you are a better player than it thinks you are. Right now you're just trying to win, when in reality you need to be playing like a player of a higher rank.

If you play like a higher ranked player you will start getting more points per win and less points per loss, until you again reach the point where the system thinks you should be.

Dude this isn't a normal problem. Regardless, I still have to win twice the normal amount of games to get there. You don't get that.

It is a normal and well documented problem. Don't worry though, you only have to start by winning twice the normal amount. The system will catch on that you are better than it thinks you are, which should make climbing easier.

Even so, you don't have to win every game, and particularly in low ranks kills don't matter that much if you know what you're doing. All that matters is that the enemy nexus is destroyed before yours is.

Just focus on improving yourself and you'll get there.
