The Champion Attribute is Tank, not...

Raid Boss.

Guys, if you're complaining about being unable to obtain immortality, I've got news for you: Everybody dies. Your job isn't to not die. Your job is to keep your carry from dying while disrupting the enemy team. That's all Tanks have ever been supposed to do. I know you miss the Metagolem meta, but give it a rest.

Nasus Nautilus Chogath Rammus The late game raid boss does still exist. o.0 No, they're not immortal, but when they hit 5-6 items, you're going to have a hard time bringing them down before their team mops the floor with you.

I feel like this is a response to my thread so I'll say this : Flash news, you can't disrupt the enemy team if you die under 4 seconds.

Flash news (which isn't a term): Yes you can. It's called CC. If you're playing a tank without hard CC, it's your own damn fault.

League is not WoW. Your job isn't to sit there and get pounded for 4 hours while your DPS keep piling on DoTs for 50 DKP. Think of League as a fighting game. Your job is to be more durable than the rest of your team (which BotRK and Last Whisper don't completely negate you whiny bastards) so that you can engage, they waste their damage on you, and you stun them into submission while your own team focuses down their heavy damage dealers. That's the game dynamic. If you can't wrap your head around that, go back to Leeroy Jenkins-ing you way into mindless Mobs in an MMO.

What you are describing isn't called "tank", it's called "sacrificial lamb".

It's a team game for a reason. Not everyone gets to be the hero who gets the pentakills. I'm a support main, I've come to terms with the fact that occasionally I have to die for my team, because that's my job. If the idea that you don't get to be an immortal juggernaut disheartens you, don't play a tank.

Asking to require more than 4 seconds to die is called an immortal juggernaut now?

That's some pretty low standards you got there to start calling things that.

The5lacker2 votes

Pretty easy to survive longer than 4 seconds if you don't just sit there with a "kick me" sign stapled to you.

Unless you mean you want to survive forever while doing that, in which case can you explain to me while people would ever pick anything other than tanks?

I remember when that was the case. I played during the Metagolem. It wasn't fun. For anyone.

We don't want to be immortal. We want to survive 10 seconds instead of 5.

What we want is to not be useless. Even if im ahead as a jungler that can be a good front liner and tanky if he has the right build. Unless I have 3 tank items before the enemy zed can buy brutalizer and bork I might as well be using tinfoil armor

The5lacker2 votes

Because as we all know all penetration items have 110% penetration.

Ignoring the fact that Zed isn't a good comparison as he's a hyper-safe, high damage champion and problematic at the moment, what do you expect "not be useless" means? Interpret that statement for me. What do you actually want to do? Because if it's "Be immortal" that doesn't work.

Some if the issue is a difference in functionality across games. In a game like WoW, the job of the tank is literally to not die and hold aggro. If you die, the whole group wipes. League is a different animal.

People need to stop thinking of League as a competitive MMORPG and more of a weird team fighting game.

i know ima low suckwad and all but i dont have a problem becoming an immoratal juggernaut :/

The5lacker2 votes

Because you don't think of the enemy team as actual people.

Newsflash: This is a 5v5 competitive game. There can be no competition between immortals.

Tanks need to be hard to kill. If you just want disruption might as well build damage since all that armor and MR is worthless. Spending gold just to last 2 more seconds than a squishy sucks. If tanks just need to disrupt, might as well make them Kamikaze, doing their job and dying afterwards, but dealing a ton of damage before that...

This is a game where adding two seconds to your life span functionally doubles it. The problem isn't tanks aren't tanky enough. The problem is that Lifesteal is waaaaaay too effective.
