Is Viktor a champion worth maining in mid for ranked or he is just too non meta and one of those "Why play x when you could play y who does it all better?" I enjoy playing him but I feel like with the same effort I put into him I could put into a big meta mid and just get better results. Opinions anyone/everyone?
8yVkmwxq0D2 votesI love Viktor, he's one of my favorite champs. I don't understand why everyone is so hung up on "meta". If you enjoy playing him, then play him. Incidentally, he is very good if you know how to use him.

8yVkmwxq0D1 votesYes, I understand that meta means the champ that does the best, but unless you are in the highest levels of competition, this isn't likely to affect you. You can carry with almost any champion if you are good enough. If you enjoy playing him, then you should play him, period. And it isn't like he's weak. He's very powerful, and even more so if you are good with him.

8yVkmwxq0D1 votesI don't rush to the final version, but I do usually go for the first upgrade early, so that you can upgrade his laser, that really adds a lot of damage. After that, I'd probably go for

Fitz n The Fool1 votesYou can max Q or E depending on who youre facing. Morello's is a good first buy. Then I'd upgrade augment at least once. Then Rylai's I feel is core on him so you have perma kite with the slow + Q speed buff. Deathcap, Zhonya's, Lich Bane = pick 2 of those 3.
gives the strongest burst. for survivability if youre getting wrecked and 
if you have 2 APs and theyre building MR.
Nahui1 votesIsn't void staff basically a core item no matter what because it shreds any mr so well? Also, is lichbane better as top vik or would IBG actually be better for the slow? Also which augment would go first, q or e?
Fitz n The Fool1 votesYou dont need IBG because you have Rylai's. Void Staff is good pretty much no matter what, but sometimes I think LB is better for the added AP ratio plus movement speed but it's up to the player. You could sub Void for Deathcap. Liandry's is also a very good item as long as you have Rylai's for the extra burn. I'd say LB is more of a top item.

Rylai makes a HUGE difference. Your ult will slow everyone it touches, plus you can infinately kite a melee with your Q plus Rylais slow
