Cho'Gath complaints?

Nahui··6 votes·1,049 views

Why has there been a recent surfacing of Cho'Gath hate? For some reason, over night it seems "Nerf Cho gath" has become very popular. He hasn't received any QoL buffs or the such recently so what makes him the target of all these complaints out of nowhere? Was he featured by the pros or something?

Non-OP champ is useful for beating OP champs.

Pro player realizes.

Non-OP champ now OP

Immediately gutted so they don't get in the way of big zed plays.

Rinse and repeat. God forbid anything non-flashy becomes viable.

Cho has always been relatively strong, just fell out of the meta. He's good against many of the current "Meta Power houses", which is why all the people who swear by the meta champs are now calling him op and in need of nerfs.

Cho'Gaths passive says "Carnivore" which means he eats meat. Eat being key word, I don't understand why his passive gets to proc off minion kills that are killed by his Rupture or Scream. "I killed you from far away and will now absorb your essence!" Instead of "I eat you, nomnomnomnomnom, I iz healed."

His sustain in lane is what makes him annoying to me, but he is very mana gated and if he continually uses Rupture to push, his passive wont be able to keep up and you'll be able to zone him away from farm. Especially as Swain.

Light2401 has it right when your laning against Cho. He is very heavily mana gated, he's kinda like Galio, all of his spells cost ALOT. And if he spams them to poke, he'll be oom very quickly.

Good Cho players are very "Reactionary" in the use of his spells.

I.E. your facing Quinn, As soon as she vault, you know Exactly where she'll be when she lands, you just rupture under her landing spot, and cast Feral Scream, and walk up and Eat her face with Ult.

He's great against telegraphed assassins, I.E. Zed, LB, People who telegraph their dash/teleports for poke. Because you can catch them easily.

The nerf cycle has reached cho who got some buffs that he didn't need in the past few months. I am not surprised in the slightest that the players found another target after the Irelia and Leblanc nerfs.

Long story short he gets to be a super tanky mage with short cooldown CC and true damage. His CC is not that hard to land and some cho players insist that battlecast cho'gath make landing his rupture even easier.

I disagree with the Bcast Cho rupture being easier to hit. I think it's hitbox radius is a little off on Bcast. I've ruptured people, and they've ;been Inside the circle on the edge of it, but not gotten hit by it. It's incredibly annoying.

He has an incredibly safe laning phase due to passive and e allowing for easy tower farming, and his silence is obscenely long and easy to hit.

I really hope they don't change Cho. He's perfectly balanced imo. He's got a good combination of avoidable disruption, tankiness, damage, sustain and execute, while being weak to kiting, shields, and %max HP skills.

Nah, the QoL to his R helped a lot. Cho's can now stack ult twice as fast. This isn't really a huge buff, but with the addition of the crab he is quite a bit more useful. In competitive, his objective control is superb. It's very hard to smite steal against a 1000 true damage monster nuke. Also, Cho is a good counter to a lot of the new meta champions. He also has good cc, and very nice damage. He also fits in well with the new tank meta, and gets huge with just RoA and ult stacks. PLUS, pulling out a weird pick in the LCS that you can play well and nobody else has ever practiced against gives you a huge advantage.
