Team match up Broken

Call me a complainer but I know that there are groups out there that are sick of this. Every time we queue up we get matched up against ranked players when none of us are ranked. When I say we I mean 2 level 30s one level 21-22 and one level 28. And we keep getting matched up against silvers, golds, and one sad sad occasion a plat. And the unlucky 5th player that gets stuck with us is hardly ever a level 30 themselves. And we get stomped. You would think after getting our butts handed to us on these shiny metal plates we'd eventually get a good match up, something we can handle... but it doesn't happen. I really like playing this game but it's reached the point that it's no longer fun and I've about had it with the game. I really hope Riot can do something about this, because I can't take another agonizing wall of (match history) defeats. item 3070

Ranked/unranked doesn't matter. It's all about MMR. Apparently your team's MMR is somewhat close to theirs for that queue.

That said, in any mode other than ranked the matchups tend to be heavily skewed many times. Generally the "higher" elo players have played many matches in ranked but fewer in normals, so their MMR in normals has not yet risen to be comparable to their ranked MMR. It gets really wonky in ARAM and 3s sometimes since they are often less played by more-than-casual players. I have played matches against multiple diamonds and plats on multiple occasions.

That's not bad...I like the challenge and generally learning something over time of playing against (relatively) highly skilled players. However, when my team is me and mid/low silvers + mid/low bronze players as well, it's just not a fair nor fun match. Our average rank would be low/mid silver and theirs is high gold/low plat.

@Riot I understand the idea and rational for separating MMR by queue type. However, please update matchmaking to at least take into account the number of matches played + MMR in other queue, and use that in the MMR calculation. There's no reason somebody who played 500+ ranked matches to get to diamond should be playing against bronze & silvers in any other mode.

@OP On the plus side, your MMR must at least be decent if you aren't all lvl 30 yet. Try to learn from the matches 9albeit it's hard when the gap is so huge). Maybe try LOLReplay or something to spectate and see what they did afterwards. Over time, your MMR will adjust so that ~50% of the time you win and lose.

RIOT doesn't give a **** about making it so people can get fair unranked games. All they care about is getting money from making skins and champions.
