The New Blue (An alternitive Ezreal build
So first and foremost, I will be the first to admit I am bronze atm (the climb is going faster than it did last season, mainly due to my picking up Ezreal) but I think I might have found a better build than what is currently played as the Blue Build Ezreal; the purpose of this post was to see if I can't get any Gold or higher's opinion on this build as I don't know exactly how well it compares to the current build, but I have found more success with it.
I go into my spiel about how I found this build below but this is the build as I prefer to play it:
Start:
First back:
preferably both
and
, but that is 2150g and you don't always have that luxury on your first back, so I normally just get
if I have to just get one, or less if I can't get that.
After getting both of the aforementioned items and usually before the first completed item I like to get a
to keep sustaining in the lane.
Rush:
, before the change to be crit based I loved this item on
, I know that it is very popular on
, but I don't play MF so I use it on
.
After this it's a toss up between what to get next:
I normally prefer
before
, but it depends on whether you are doing more farming, teamfighting/skirmishing.
After getting both of those the build path becomes more need based, and my full build usually ends up looking something like this:
with either
or
depending on whether or not I am getting focused.
Alternatives I have found useful are:
,
,
, and
when I need to kite really hard.
An alternative that I need to play around with more:
, getting
right after
, and then upgrading it once it hits full stacks, then continuing the the aforementioned build, replacing swifties with
So if you watch TheOddOne for a while you will eventually hear his rant about tear (both with Ezreal, but also in general), some of my league friends (of varying ranks) and I agreed that buying tear first thing is a "waste" of 700g that could be spent offensively to get snowballing early, and since Ezreal scales really well into the late game, especially with the recent changes to Masteries, my logic was to bypass tear and go for a bigger powerspike; which since Ezreal has significant mana problems unless you are very sparing with your Q to last hit. Which led me to look for alternatives to getting mana, while double Buffs would be perfect neither can be guaranteed late game, and unless a jungler/midlaner is killed you can't get them early. Having said that, I find that Blue Build Ezreal relies heavily on hitting your Q's in sieges and not doing too much during fights other than shoot Q's all fight; which ignores his passive which in teamfights can be very strong IMO. Now ignoring
and
,
was my next thought, with the increased crit and the added cdr on
I found these items to work splendidly together, netting a 30% cdr and 40% crit with just two items that gives a pretty big spike. Continuing along that line of thought,
was my next idea, the flat ad, crit, and crit damage are very nice with our first two items, however this also nets us to the maximum cdr, (I absolutely love getting 45% with the cdr mastery, but unfortunately I find that Fervor is stronger on
over Thunderlord's :c). Naturally the next thing needed is some LS, I personally prefer the shield, AD, and additional LS on
over the AS and Active on
, unless I need to do some tank busting in which case I also make sure to include
.
All that said, I know I am bad at the game and I need to learn a lot, so that's why I am here, getting myself critiqued by as many people as I can so that I might be able to climb farther faster. Please leave your salt at the door and your comments below :)
TL;DR: I am a newb and I want to know which build is better on
:
This one:
, Replacing swifties with
or this one:
