Dear Aether/Gentlemen Gustaf, I do not like the new experimental 8.14 patch notes format
As everyone who is reading the 8.14 patch notes can see, Riot has been experimenting in their format for this patch by adding two new sections, the simple buffs/nerfs ones.
it is very clear the reason why those have been added; Riot patch notes writers have a history of writing fancy and creative patch notes that often have been very extensive on their reasoning for changes and at times have gave pure comedy gems, but their writing skills ended up with the disadvantages of having very long wall of text at times, that have discouraged people from reading patch notes as it is a very time consuming process, and I understand it
But when I stopped looking at what these new sections contain, it has been very baffling to see how some of these "simple" changes are actually pretty big/relevant
Changes like the Ahri/ Corki/Sivir/Rakan ones are pretty BIG compared to changes like the Rek'Sai/Elise ones as some of the standout examples. i think it is very misleading to group changes that are pretty much different in change and scope in the same sections, and people could quickly slide through them without recognizing the magnitude of each change, given how they are labeled
I get the idea that you wanted to separate the changes that modify playstyles from the ones that didn't, but I get you went to far in the other direction and this do not help people to understand how much some champion and lane dynamics change because of some of these "simple" buffs/nerfs, so I think while experimenting in patch notes format changes is good, you probably missed the mark this time
What are the boards thoughts about the new format?
