"Nasus is late game"

Yeah, that's a nice thought, until you get to late game, and find out that freezing lane to no tactical effect while your enemy roams all over the map, forcing 4v5s while you calmly afk farm for 30 minutes straight, doesn't really leave you in a place to "carry" lategame. It's a decent thought, until you realize nobody gives a crap about the extra 100 or so dps you've added through a few hundred stacks from that stellar "late-game" tactic, when the other team has - uh, what's it called? Oh right! - LATEGAME CHAMPIONS (you know, the actual ones) that dish out 9 times that amount on every autoattack every half a second.

I'm almost tempted to start dodging every time I see a Nasus player. About 95% of them can't figure out that the outcome of a game doesn't revolve around a purple number on an ability tooltip. I can pretty much start placing bets on guaranteed loss the moment one of them brings up something about "lategame". You mean that stage where your puppy face gets melted before you can get off 2 Q's? Sure, good luck with that. I'm sure that warrants last-hitting minions 20 feet away from an enemy tower for 3-4 minutes straight through two teamfights mid long past the laning phase, and never ever even touching that objective right in your face (yes, that happened. That almost always happens. Just another day in a game with the doggy.)

If Nasus was actually tanky, maybe he'd have a late-game. But as it stands he just dies He can only really just push

Its a falacy that nasus must be tanky. Hes actually an AP bruiser; the only reason he can build tanky at all is because of his high base damages and his Q.

My nasus begs to differ

Massively begs to differ

Except most Nasus games end at 25 minutes because Nasus just pushes in to the nexus while the enemy is busy 4v5.

I guess you get the decent ones. He's one of the best champs for deleting towers and yet, repeatedly, I see Nasus players ignoring almost their entire kit, and all their tactical benefits (ESPECIALLY backdooring) for the sake of one goal: smashing people's heads.

I've rarely seen a bad Nasus and since usually they're on the enemy team....

The thing is if they made his passive something less useful in lane and something more useful throughout the game besides hit people and heal which encourages you to hit people instead of towers, people would actually hit towers.

I don't think it's an inherent problem with the passive. Look at Veigar players. I have never seen them hesitate to wander the map, killing unsuspecting poor saps all over the place to no end. I'm not even sure there is such a thing as an "afk-farm Veigar". I think it's just the mindset of a lot of Nasus players. They play Nasus because they love that Q... a little too much... so much so that they use it for almost nothing that gains any lead towards winning, and only apply it to objectives and enemies for maybe 3 minutes out of an entire match.

Apples to Oranges(mangoes?) here. Veigar ends up building damage anyway, meaning stacking farm all day isn't a must. Plus, Veigar's damage is more suited to shredding people, not waves

GetMariahCarried1 votes

Veigar's a mega-burster. Plus if either of them is better at shredding with q, it's Veigar by midgame with his q hitting up to 2 minions.

Non-fighter is almost a fair argument, except... Nasus has plenty of damage potential, even if he loses up to, say, 200 stacks on his Q aiming for objectives over afk farming. I'll take a Nasus that pushed two towers over 100 stacks any day (and to be honest, it's probably only a loss of 50 in the time it would actually take him to push a couple towers, with his potential.)

If i had a nasus skin id probably play him top-lane island with the occasional TP out or roam for preassure.

But since they removed zephyr, one of the best backdooring items in the game, its not fun at all to backdoor as anyone who cant delete waves.

They really ought to make his gameplay more interesting than "Smack minions, then smack buildings, then smack people"

item 3024 against AD or item 3211 against AP is basically "late game" for Nasus. If you didnt hard counter and kill him 3 times already by that time, you probably wont win top anymore lol.

GetMariahCarried1 votes

I've laned against several Nasus players that spam dances in between q-stacking with that thought in mind... and then proceed to die 15 minutes later because, duh, I know how to counterbuild against tank items.

Late-game, Nasus is susceptible to being bursted and/or kited during teamfights when the enemy team plays properly. At this point, people are grouping and the damage-dealers have purchased their percent penetration items.

In my experience, mid-game is really Nasus' strongest point. If you have around 300-400 stacks, Iceborn Gauntlet and Spirit Visage by 20 minutes into the game, you are a monster during skirmishes and 1v1s.

Honestly, at that point your best bet is often to roam around the map taking towers with your team and fighting for objectives. If the game extends past the mid-game, you can easily start split-pushing again if necessary.

the outcome of a game doesn't revolve around a purple number on an ability tooltip

It does when that little purple number allows you to oneshot the adc with just a flash.

GetMariahCarried1 votes

Was that adc at 5 bars of health, or did you have an infinity edge? How much of the enemy front line was NOT there when said adc got stupidly close to you? Do you spam flash in every fight, or are you actually restricted by these things called cooldowns? How cool is it to get melted in 4 seconds after you burn your one escape placing yourself as deep into the enemy team as possible?

Puynsi1 votes

Its called farming your Q, you farm your Q and shove your cane into theirs adcs/mid ass regardless of frontline since you can just flash and go in, the whole gamestyle of nasus is if he can land that 700 stacked Q into a squishy, building tank is just something you do to not get melted so fast.

What's sad is that Nasus wins most lanes still...he's fucking overpowered, too many dueling tools. He honestly doesn't even teamfight well, but he can still 1v2 most jungler/tops by level 11.

GetMariahCarried1 votes

Never had that issue. Then again, I play a lot of Nasus counters.

There's no real Nasus counter. He builds nearly full defense and does stacking flat damage w/ armor shred as well as % damage. The only champion that I believe truly beats Nasus is Lulu.

The Bearded Bard1 votes

I also fucking hate nasus with a passion, but for different reasons. For one, his laning is stupidly boring to play against. It's just him having defensive runes and items, me unable to kill him or stop him from farming. If I hard engage on him he'll wither and ignore me, or just straight up kill me if he's got ult, if I push him to tower, he'll wither and I'll get my ass ganked.

Out of sheer boredom I'll TP bot for the easy double kill down there, what does Nasus do? Stays in lane and by the time I'm back there he's in my base. Boring as shit.
