TLDR Riot's update

Riot is being actually transparent for once. This is amazeballs :O

Toxicity in ranked is much lower than ever before, in fact it is now lower than normals. (it was not before)

They know that solo players are unhappy, games are statistically unfair for solo players. Riot dislikes this just like we do, they are trying to find ways to make solo play fair again. Riot wants solo players to be as happy, if not happier, than before.

There is a significant number of players who are now playing ranked who were not before, due to the opportunity to play with friends. These players were unhappy with ranked before, and are now happy with ranked.

Teamwork is now being rewarded in ranked, and this is something Riot is embracing as good. I, myself, love this as well.

Yes, the current plan is to scrap solo queue. But remember, Riot definitely is looking for a way to return the Solo queue experience to as fair as it was before, if not more fair.
