A question about Caitlyn

HOW DO I DEAL WITH HER ;A;

qq aside, I'm a support main, I lean towards caster supports mainly juggling between Nami and Morgana but also play Braum, Maokai, Zilean and Soraka.

I'm fine protecting my adc against all the other adcs (with the exception of Corki who can be tricky but I never even see him bot lane anymore), and can deal with other supports, but when against a good Caitlyn, I just can't...seem to do anything for my adc at all.

If I choose to play a caster I can poke but I usually lose at least half health trying (especially if the enemy supports a Sona with thunderlords >>) and if I pick a tank, I mostly lose my ability to poke.

Maokai's okay but depending on the enemy support going all in could mean a death sentance ;n;, until six anyway... and that depends on my adc as well.

I looked around to see who counters her adc wise but there doesn't seem to be a clear answer, people seem to have many differing opinions.

So my question is, are there any counters to botlane Caitlyn? From both an adc and support point of view? Or is it all just down to skill?

ty in advance :)

Thresh, Nautilus, and Blitzcrank can all force fights against her. They're also all hard for her to stick damage on.

Braum can tag her with Q and then start an all-out engage, and most carries will beat Caitlyn at close range (especially Graves / Lucian / Miss Fortune / other burst carries). He is also incredibly durable, and can simply block much of Caitlyn's harass.

Alistar or Sona or Soraka can play the healing game, and many carries scale harder than Caitlyn, letting you just play a safe lane and come out ahead in the long run. Sona is a bit riskier due to her fragility though.

I play Caitlyn as my primary ADC. It is extremely difficult to lose lane without getting ganked. Even then I can usually turn on the jungler. pending on who it is, and send them packing as well.

Things that cause problems for me:

  1. Hard engage. If you play a support and have an ADC that can get on Caitlyn it's difficult for her to use her strength, her range.
  2. Alistar. I have been against a couple of Alistar players that say fk it and completely try and zone me out. You would be surprised how much is terrorized my game.
  3. Frozen heart
  4. Sivir gives me some issues at times. Spellshield is great for free mana and her wave clear doesn't allow e to CS and poke.

Things I look for with Cait:

  1. If you are within my range I'm going to shoot you, multiple times.
  2. If you retaliate and fight me back I'm going to NET headshot you.
  3. Traps are in your path, always. Headshot.
  4. I will focus the support if they are in out of position to remove you from being able to engage.

Good Caitlyn can't lose lane 2v2. Other long ranged ADCs like Varus and Ashe don't have problems with her poke.

Blitzcrank Bring her to you.

TahmKench Eat her, eat your ally if they step on a trap/target by ult. Heal her poke back with his E.

If the Cait is good she will at worst go even in the lane. Cait is just pretty solid into most matchups. Tanky supports with a lot of CC are probably the most difficult. If you can engage on her and lock her down you have a good chance. Picking a poke fight with her isn't the way to go.

That said, you can always try to just go even against her and that isn't really a bad thing either.

Most of the time you farm till six then dumpster Caitlin.

She is absolutely horrible at all ins and her mid game hilariously bad.

Pick someone that can heal her poke then go to town.

She does very little damage to innately tanks supports as well.
