If theres an 8k+ gold difference then 3 votes should be enough for a surrender vote to go through.
It's ridiculous to be held hostage in for sure lost games because two people are salty for x reasons and just want to waste the time of others.

Arbitrary gold lead at no specified point in the game is arbitrary.
Never surrender!
Actually, I always believe people who want to surrender are the salty ones
8k gold lead is nothing in solo queue. And there's tons of other factors to consider: full ap or full ad comp? Outscale potential? Mentality? I've been down 0/2/0 to aatrox on renekton due to one mistake by me and then jg camping me. Clawed back from a 2 level deficit, hit 6 at a disadvantage and killed aatrox (he had ignite; i had tp) in a fight HE forced on me. No tower or jg help; straight up 1v1. If aatrox gets any kind of lead early and gets his passive (ga) for the 1v1, there's no way he should lose. But lose he did... and then proceeded to get wrecked the rest of the lane despite tons of jg help.
I've had 1/4/0 adc's and 0/6/0 midlaners in the same game. I've been with similar kda, but you make one or two good picks and these guys go from playing like bronze 5 salty feeders to playing like gold smurfs in a silver 5 game. We've come back from 15k+ gold deficits PRE-30 min and won... while still at gold deficit before 40 min easily. Making the right plays matters. If you decide the game is over and refuse to ADJUST your play to do what is OPTIMAL for the TEAM (not just yourself)... you can easily make a comeback. But if you keep doing the same dumb plays that put you behind in the first place and decide you can't win because they aren't working (still) now that you are behind... no duh they aren't working and... no duh you can't win because you KNOW they don't work - so doing them more is intentional (you are consciously choosing to do them) feeding (you are throwing the game needlessly).
I don't know how many games I've lost... even games with a massive gold lead... because some jerk on my team decides... I'm gonna do whatever I want because we're winning and I got items. Only to throw the game 10x in a row, cost his team every objective, get NOTHING done other than farm some minions or jg camps and trade kills 1v1. Instead of trying to make it look like you solo carried... do what's best for the TEAM. Now, I get a lot of flack some games because people THINK I'm being selfish or wanting to 1v5, but it's actually the complete opposite.
I'm not splitting 1v2 to get more cs while expecting team to 4v3 instead of 1-3-1... I'm doing it because they're not safe solo pushing vs the enemy team comp with a fed assassin in 2 positions and I am. It's to pull 2 strong enemies to waste time denying me cs (while I soak xp and stall them pushing towers) so my team gets an optimal 4v3 where THEY can win. I'm going bot to soak and push so team (who has no tp) can defend against enemy team rushing baron which allows for our team to either... stall them at baron while I get inhib bot and look to group or... pull enemies bot so I can tp or stall them bot while my team gets advantageous fight around baron or free baron. It's not about getting ME ahead... it's about setting my TEAM up for the maximum benefit possible. Sure I'd love it if I could give that farm to my adc... but then we guaranteed end up 4v5 contesting baron or adc gets picked off 1v1 and THEN enemy gets to free push bot or get advantageous fight around baron. But if adc works with team and goes where they need... then we get baron and they can take all the cs as we 5 man push to get inhib tower afterwards. So I'm not being a jackass there... I'm looking out for my team's safety and needs to give us optimal pressure in the situation. Doing stuff like that can win you games even if your team is behind in gold. But just forcing fights w/o setting up advantageous situations (despite being behind) is a sure way to guarantee you fall further behind every time you force a fight... resulting in your loss. People give up too damn easily some games because they're unwilling to listen, to adapt, to TRY. And so they turn a winnable game into an auto-loss all on their own.
