Cleanse Should be a targetable summoner spell for supports to take. Exhuast is only good at countering continuous dps champs. Burst champs often use cc to get their combo off on an opponent. Supports should have the option to save a team member from this damage too. Please upvote to make this happen.
ADC takes cleanse, support takes heal. Basically the same thing you just described, and yet, nobody plays like that.
Soraka , Yuumi or nami are good to take heal since they building +Healing power items. Also they can take Mikael for Cleanse as well :)
If you're facing a CC-heavy duo, the ADC should take Cleanse and consider rushing Merc Treads and/or QSS, while the support takes Heal and considers rushing Mikael's Crucible and/or Merc Treads.
Just don't use Mikael's right when they want to use Cleanse, or they might pop it after being freed from the stun.
