Riot should buff atleast 2 champions in every role every patch in addition to the typical nerfs

I remember patches coming out every 2 weeks and pretty much doing exactly this. It kept the meta fresh, to say the least. Being flexible and able to adapt to patch changes was considered a player-quality type thing.

Then they switched it up to roughly a patch every 3-4 weeks... Ok, maybe things will be less chaotic, but at least they're still shaking up the meta right?

Then they got more conservative with their buffs / nerfs (the frequency of gutting is nowhere near the level it used to be).... and now we're at this point where we see entire patches dedicated to nerfs with maybe 1-2 buff-nerfs... It seems like every other patch Riot does some sweeping nerf of the entire jungle. Am I supposed to be looking forwards to these patches? Atleast with some direct buffs to some forgotten junglers I might get a fresh look at them again.

Yeah, if you take out an apex predator with a nerf then there's a chance that some of the lesser used champions might see some light of day, but usually if you were to, say, nerf Jarvan and Vi, then it'll just be the next 2 most popular junglers that see some usage. Not nearly as effective at keeping the game fresh as opposed to direct buffs.

In turn when they did that, people bitched about how there was too much confusion and not enough time to adapt to thing and the balance was everywhere.

4+ years ago when the game was sort of new and the pro scene was conciderably smaller Riot could do those changes. I loved it as well, if a champion was too strong it actually got nerfed, if a champion was weak it got buffed. But since the pro players need to come up with strategies and practise champions Riot can't gut or buff champions too much, it makes it too hard for pro players to perform at their best and that in turn would make Worlds less good.

This is why all the major changes are happening during preseason when the pro scene is down. This is also why we will never ever see those patch notes ever again. Sadly.
