What's with all the stat for stat passives being removed?

Xerath : AP for Armor Azir : CDR for Attack Speed Galio : Magic Resist for AP Rammus : Armor for AD and now Singed : Mana for Health? What's next? Vladimir can't have health from AP or AP from health?

If they were potentially "unhealthy" for the game then why put them there in the first place?

I mean I understand that keeping the same passives with some of the reworked champions will make them look unhealthy, but changing their passives on champions that were ALREADY fine (Rammus , Singed , Xerath) makes absolutely no sense. Not only were they smaller scale reworks, but that also forced them to use only ONE build, making them weaker for the better or worse. In other words, making them less useful in other play styles.

As singed you could build three AP items and still fit one or two tanky items in your build to be more versatile since his ultimate doubles those amounts. NOW you can only fit Rylai's because now item 3027 , item 3003 is pretty much less important with his old passive now gone. Meaning, there's only one build you can go, the one where people can chase you and take no damage. Except the part where they changed his W to be really good now.

The bonus magic penetration would be unnecessary if it was still on Xerath since he now has 4 abilities instead of 3, but why did his AP for Armor get removed? You basically don't even have a passive with item 3802 being your first item and all. I mean it was probably to give him some counter-play, but look, this is his counter-play: Irelia / item 3102 / item 3140 . He's forced to go full AP runes because if he has any cool-down reduction runes he doesn't deal enough damage in the early game to pressure the enemy laner and saving your E for that perfect gank doesn't do shit when the stun scales with how far it travels.

And finally Rammus, I actually don't see the problem with Rammus in this state other than building AD on him. He used to be able to build Thornmail and just straight up crit and armor without any items with attack damage on them since his AD scaled with armor meaning you didn't need to build damage if your attacks dealt physical damage, which now his kit is entirely magic damage. Rammus is no longer an AD Bruiser OR AP Tank Hybrid, he's now JUST an AP Tank.

Honestly IMO, stat for stat passives are boring. I hope they rework Chogath Swain passives.

Those aren't stat for stat passives, and Trundle is the biggest offender of the 3 since he doesn't even need to actually kill the minions to heal

design philosophy change, i guess

i wish singed still had a need for mana just because I liked stacking roa and seraph on him and running people over with mana-bruiser builds, but i am happy with how he is now

Now that I actually had someone play him for me I kind of agree too, sort of. Haven't played him yet since before the nerfs/buffs whatever you want to call it. lol

They're super boring and don't really add anything to the characters. On Ryze and Vlad it at least accentuates their late game scaling and Ryze specifically gets to have a unique build path where he rushes both mana stacking items as core items in every matchup. Most of the other examples instead would generally build the same way you would expect them to given their kits with their passives just adding small forgettable amounts of another stat without any really big synergy power spikes.

I like the new Singed tbh. You can still build a RoA bruisery build since RoA gives 100 AP at full stacks btw and mana doesn't hurt.

They just aren't very interesting.
