Math of orb walking during Jungling

Has anyone done the math for both a melee champ and a range champ on just how much of a difference health and clear time wise for jungling of orb walking vs not orb walking?

My brother who's a plat Jungle main says that orb walking only works for ranged champs and really only on melee camps. While Nightblue says it even helps for melee champs on all camps.

Anyone back either statement up with numbers?

Thank you!

I don't know the exact numbers, but it extends cleartime slightly, while saving hp to you can keep clearing. This is for melee champions. For ranged clear speed is largely the same while the health savings are massive.

It works for all champions, but most melee champions who get the benefit are ones who rely heavily on their abilities to clear, Kha'zix, Rengar, etc. It lets you stall for cooldowns while not taking damage.

You can't really; this is going to be too dependent on the individual cases. For example, the results with orb walking/kiting are going to be dependent on how well the person orb walks/kites/whatever and that result is not going to match what someone else doing it would get. You can imagine that it would work even for melee, like imagine you would "save" a hit from the Ancient Golem while getting a few seconds off of a cool-down. Those words (plat, jungle "main") don't offer any evidence or qualification, we would go with the conservative opinion and go with what that Nightblue said.
