Let's have a discussion about the Sion rework.

I haven't played the new Sion myself, but I will say that his passive falls off greatly late game (so I have experienced). His "reincarnation" doesn't last that long and it's easy to cc or outrun. His ult is also very weird. I feel like there is nothing else like it in the game. I did see it utilized to rush into baron and smite it at the last second. What do you guys think? I haven't heard/read that much about him.

His passive isn't designed to let him continually Sion R his way through a sea of enemies like old Sion, it's designed to let him land the finishing blow(s) on a high-priority target.

In that respect, it and the 1 time use dash work very well. Also fun fact: You can use items during Glory In Death. Like BotRK. Or Mercurial Scimitar, if CC's really that terrifying during GiD (it shouldn't be, as it should be immediately obvious who you do and do not have a chance of slaughtering in your final moments) :)

Actually his passive is useless from level 1 to 18.

Sion's rework, while nice overall, fails in execution. He's too easily kiteable even by enemies without boots and no dashes

Playing him wrong.

Wrong, Riot said specifically that you cannot activate items during his passive, just like you can't use summoners.

I think his passive hurts more early just cause he dies faster without health but besides that I think his ult is pretty hard to use, if you try to stop it early it takes a bit to make it stop.

He actually dies faster with health atm, since he loses %max hp, not a flat amount. this means that the damage he deals heals him for less and less each level.

If he loses % hp, wouldn't he have the same passive timer regardless of how much health he built? I don't understand how he would die faster losing % hp.

Sion probably has one of the sexiest engagements in the game. A good ult into any medium-high priority targets and a full charged Q will belt out tons of damage and immediately swing a teamfight in your favor. Bruiser potential stronk.

He dies faster assuming you are able to AA for the duration of the effect. If you have 4000 hp and lose 5%+ whatever percent per second every second and your AAs with 100% life steal heal you for 200 each hit, (this is just an example, not actual numbers) you will stay alive for less time than if you have 2000 health and lose the same 5%+whatever percent per second every second, because your AAs heal you for a consistent amount, while your health drains for more each second. If you just stood there and didn't AA, you would take exactly the same amount of time to die. If you ARE AAing, then you will live a lot longer with only 2000 hp than 4000 hp. 10% of 4000 is 400, 10% of 2000 is 200, it takes twice as much to heal for 10% of 4000 than 10% of 2000.

P.S. I do love his engage, SOOO GUUUUD.

You also have to take into consideration how much damage you're drawing in from enemy champions/turrets/minions (if early game). 2000 HP will drain faster then 4000 simply because of the extra source of health loss that can't be instantly soaked by the extra health you have. You simply can't assume that you'll engage, or be able to engage, with your passive when determining health loss, because then it varies widely.

Wrong. Go try it.

I've yet to test and find out if Youmuu's AS increase is applied during GiD, because it sets his attack speed to a static level (even if it was higher before he died), but the MS definitely is.

What you mean to say is "he sustains less effectively", which is countered by items he loves like Spirit Visage (mmmm delicious HP, MR and CDR... plus a bonus for my passive!)

He dies at the exact same rate, because %HP.
