Draven buff

Hello.

It's cool to see Draaaaven get something nice, since he wasn't in a very good spot since BT and IE change (you know, the one from start of S4 I think). However, I think that his passive needs more opportunities to use it, rather than being more potent.

The best and healthiest way to do that is to make it proc on assists. Let's say for 20-25% of current stacks, with no base value (so if you get an assist with 200 stacks, you will gain 80-100 additional gold, contrary to the 450 bonus gold you would get for a kill). This way it no longer feels so bad to have the support or jungler take the kill (either by accident or necessity) and you feel better for getting assists.

Or just add 10 base damage to his Q. This way he won't be one of the weakest (if not the weakest) adcs on levels 1-3/5. Hell, currently Kalista just outdamages his axes (that is assuming Draven perfectly juggles with 2 axes at once) with her E (also accounted for her lowered base damage, mind you), until level 5 or a big damage item (BF sword usually).

From my experience as a Janna main, if Draaaaven has assists, he's doing it wrong. Also from a balance perspective, since Draaaaaven snowballs so incredibly hard, his weak early game is really what keeps him in check.

As it happens, Janna is the best support for Draven right now. She doesn't deal much damage herself, while she increases AD (which in turn is increased by up to 85% for Draven, due to his axes) making kills easier to take for him.

And yes, his weak early is what keeps him in check, that's why I wrote that the passive on assist solution is the healthiest one (as buffing his early can cause some problems). Though, 10 damage flat shouldn't be that good.

What's all this talk about Draven having a weak early game? He has like, one of the best early games?

Only if you decide to trade autoattacks with him until one of you dies (and even then it could be Draven, depending on your champion). In all other scenarios (read - all that actually happen in games) his early is quite weak. Two of his skills (Q and W) are percentage steroids - which require some initial stats to be useful (AD. In both cases). At level 1, Draven will get around 30 additional damage per axe - which sounds alright on paper, but in reality nearly every other ability that ADCs have, outdamage multiple axes with a single use (Ashe W is worth 3 axes, Ezreal Q is worth 4 axes etc.). And those abilities aren't directly tied to your autoattacks, which is also a huge plus in early.

So yeah, the "best early game" is a myth. Or rather a thing of the past, when he had his old passive (which added 34 damage to his every axe at level one... Which means that it over doubled his damage from the axe).

That said, Draven's weak early does make sense. After all, his mid-game powerspike is as big as his ego (which means you are fucked). Or at least it was like it with the old BT (he got it, he farmed some minions and he was dealing more damage on average than he would with IE). Right now it's still good, but not amazing anymore.
