PSA: Your Lane Is Not An Island.

A LOT of laners like to complain about too infrequent ganks from their jungle, but something often overlooked is ganking from top to mid and from mid to top or mid to bot. If you aren't ganking your neighbor lanes, you are hurting your team.

The easiest games I've won are those where mid and top were constantly ganking each other and bot. Heck, played a game the other day where Rengar ended up covering top because riven was roaming so much.

TL;DR: don't complain about not getting ganks. Use that time to gank other lanes.

You need to know WHEN to gank, though.

I'm sick of top or mid going to each others' lane and getting a kill but losing tower in the process. If you're going to lose an objective for a kill, it's not worth it.

Now, mid tower for a double or triple kill bot lane + a dragon, sure... Just don't wander around until you have your minions attacking their turret.

There is a rythm to it. Gank when your laner backs. Gank when your jungler is clearing camps close by so they can cover. Gank when the enemy is pushed. Don't gank if they are under turret - you're wasting your time. From top gank then back and tele in to save turret. Or tele out for a teamfight and dragon (and lose turret, which is often the trade)

Too often I see players treat laning phase as this solo kill "YOLO get rekt" phase where the only responsibility to gank is the junglers. Everyone should know how and when to gank.

On the obverse.

If you're not ganking for me and I'm behind, don't expect me to be anywhere but my lane.

See, I think that's the wrong way to look at it. A 0-4 Annie that's behind, for example, is not going to catch up no matter how lomg she stays in lane. But if they opportunistically gank bot lane and their 2s stun gets Vayne a double, they may never need to catch up.

I can think of at least one game I played in the last week where I was carried from a losing lane after I ganked bot and the ADC got a double and hypercarried midgame.
