Have some Empathy People

Yeah, banned players may have been toxic or something, they probably even deserved it.

But if you got banned and lost your hundreds/thousands of hours of league in one email, wouldn't you be upset about it?

This forum shouldn't be a place for you to gleefully tell people they deserved their bans.

It is difficult to empathize, or even sympathize, with someone who is given numerous chances to change their behavior before they are finally banned. How can you feel sorry for someone who refuses to learn from their mistakes?

I have plenty of empathy. But I try to reserve it for victims, rather than people who are dealing with the established consequences of their actions.

That said, I must agree that "gleefully" is probably the worst possible way to share that opinion.

I agree and disagree in some cases.

For example, I seen a few people myself included banned for Intentional feeding, another poster on here did a lot better than I did except in like 1 game and he did very bad but I don't think his feeding was intentional he got a 14 day ban.

Another thing I see is a lot of MMR boosting bans on people with no evidence really.

Over-All its very stressful to know some players might lose hundreds of dollars, if I get banned from this game for Feeding just because I did my absolute worst in games for a couple of days then yes that is very stressful knowing I lost hundreds of dollars put into the actual game, and it just doesn't make sense because I would never Intentionally feed on my main account, and Riot knows this because they can look at my IP and see I haven't done this with other accounts yet so logically makes no sense.

In some cases I think some players who are toxic deserve a chance to reform, in hard cases I am kinda leaning towards the fact that Riot should issue like a 6 month - 1 year ban for the extreme toxic cases, then put the account up for manual review where a player can get another chance if they admit that their behavior was wrong, and agree not to do it anymore, since Riot allows multiple account creations this means users can learn to control their behavior and have the possibility to get their account back, but then I have seen many cases myself where players just don't seem like they are willing to reform and its sad.

I have a guy in another game who tells players to kill themselves, and I talk in public chat about it because he is supposed to be our leader not once out of his mouth does he even say sorry for for type of behavior, and this is not something I want to see in League.

But anyways to answer the question (Yes I am upset about getting a suspension) and being reported for offensive language like 7-10 games of mine when I did not use any hate towards others, zero reform card, and personally I feel like becoming the next actual troll now because of being accused of Intentionally feeding on an account I have spent hundreds of dollars and thousands of hours playing.

Whether or not I empathize with people who post those types of threads is based entirely on their tone when posting about it.

If people are apologetic or calming asking for opinions on it then I will. If they come in with a "fuck everyone" attitude I will not. That attitude is just a further demonstration of what got them banned in the first place and shows they didn't learn anything.

Even though we get generic punishments since the system has to work for millions of people, all offenses and offenders are not the same.

To those complaining about their "wrongful ban".....here are ways to get others to NOT believe you:

  1. Say you have "never done anything wrong".
  2. Say that other players in your games were being "more toxic than you".
  3. Say that it was a pre-made team that got you banned.
  4. Say that you don't want Riot to post your chat logs.
  5. Insult other posters in your thread.
  6. Insult Riot or Riot's banning system
  7. Say that you have been banned before.
  8. Say that you say "nothing" in chat
  9. Talk about "free speech"
  10. Compare your ban to a real life judicial system
  11. Disagree with everything that other posters have said to you.
  12. Post and then never post again.

If I think of more, I'll add them later.

Unfortunately a lot of punishments are complete failures of the system. I've gotten multiple warnings and I go out of my way to not be toxic in games.

Just the other day I was watching a streamer (so were thousands of others) and he had been streaming for about 9 hours straight (plenty of games) and aside from not being toxic, he barely wrote anything in game chat period. After a normal game he randomly gets a chat restriction for having shown "negative behavior and verbal abuse in a recent game." Everyone was laughing and commenting at how bullshit the automated system is.

I wouldn't believe it if I didn't see it on camera/have it happen to me, but it seems like just about anyone in a bad mood can report you and those reports obviously hold weight, assuming a chat restriction is a form of punishment.
