I've heard people say no good comes form having it on when playing ranked matches, and can only hinder you since most time people use all-chat to flame each other in ranked.
I personally have it on since I'm crazy and wonder if people every say things towards me, or maybe I'd miss out on conversations with people that don't take ranked too seriously (which has happened).
