Can we PLEASE admit Nasus is a problem?

I don't know about the rest of you, but whenever I'm playing top in solo queue and have to lane against Nasus , I become overwhelmed with frustration.

Because he's absolute hell to play against.

Let's go through his problems:

-Unlike other perma-scaling late-game tanks like Sion and Thresh, Nasus 's damage never falls off, and instead becomes even stronger.

-Unlike other perma-scaling late-game damage dealers like Cassiopeia and Veigar, Nasus never becomes a glass cannon, and instead gains a ton of survivability.

-Unlike the aforementioned champions, who all have meager laning phases in order to make up for their bonkers late game potential, Nasus really only has problems until he finishes his first item.

-Unlike the aforementioned champions, who don't draw an irregular amount of attention during laning phase, Nasus HAS to be denied, and even if you do so, you will eventually have to go back to base, allowing Nasus to get the 50 stacks he needs to get rolling.

-Nasus only needs 50 stacks to get rolling, and gains 3 stacks per minion kill.

-All of the weaknesses of the immobile melee damage-tank are solved with Nasus's kit: free lifesteal, free 90% slow, free armor reduction, free damage, and free tankiness. Therefore, he can build full tank, and still have an ungodly amount of damage and utility.

-90% slow for 5 seconds. This shit needs to be changed ASAP. Like, there are arguments that can be made against my other points, but this shit is broken.

Nasus can be beaten. It's all on how your team plays. If you have a good team he isn't a problem if you have a bad team well, welcome to the club.

The 95% slow is not something a good Nasus will have before level 13. He is also so easily kited that you can out-wait the duration and then escape. Or just use X champion's escape / gap closer to completely kite him during the slow anyways.

After reading the op, I got a lot of salt but not actually good arguments. You've tried to inflate the worst parts of his kit for his opponent while ignoring all of his weaknesses.

"Extreme utility, one of the best crowd control ults in the game, a permaslow you never have to turn off, large amounts of AOE damage over time, insane temporary vision, and passive gold gain. OMG it's so freaking op please nerf ASHE IMMEDIATELY."

Teemo ..... Frozen Mallet.... ByBy susaN. All you need on any ranged champ is a frozen mallet and nasus is going nowhere.

Make his slow join the .75 second club. Veigar

Before I begin, I'm not going to argue Nasus is a balanced champion or not. Mostly because these boards like to condemn those who like playing those champions quite often and I like to think of myself as someone who likes to play Nasus when they get the chance to when I top lane. I like playing him top and jungle. So I'm not going to say that he's fine or whatever because I know I will be condemned for that.

I don't think you understand what the term "Free" means. He has free Lifesteal, yes but the rest of what you've stated has mana costs. Otherwise we can argue that everyone has free damage in their kits. Nasus spells (aside from his Q), do cost quite a bit of mana. Also the aforementioned champions you so pointed out all have hard CC, even if delayed or situational. Not only that, but Cassiopeia and Veigar are ranged with zoning tools.

What I will say is that I do find it weird that Nasus can gain stacks on Towers and Wards. Then again I also find it weird that players can lifesteal from wards as well.

Gank him shit tons.

So sick of people not knowing what to do, I literally watched a fucking Renekton !!! Let Nasus Get 700 Stacks by 20 mins. Honestly depressing, It's like people won't even try.

How I beat nasus = trundle.

we're not gonna adress the fact that no matter how hard you will equally duel him he's gonna like Q lifesteal from a minion?

Ryvaku3/11/2015, 3:04:28 PM3 votes

I love getting a lane against Nasus. It's free kills when being in lane with him. I always take Exhaust with me though and rush a botrk if melee champ.

Sammystorm3/11/2015, 10:04:07 AM3 votes

If you freeze your lane nasus has a really hard time even getting exp depending on the champion. He can't force you to stop freezing unless you already fed him. It also puts him at a huge risk of being ganked.

He is a problem if you let him free farm his q, the entire game, and you let him walk up to your carries, and q him.

Tavish3/11/2015, 2:19:00 PM2 votes

I just don't think his Q should work on towers. It can be really frustrating when a Nasus who is just MODERATELY fed, split pushes top lane. With his ulti, whither, if you send any kind of squishy top to deal with him he will just dive you and kill you with 2 Q's, but you can't ignore him either because he takes the tower in 4 Q's. If you send someone tanky, he will just ulti, ignore the tank and take the tower anyway then walk away.

Meep Man3/11/2015, 1:10:26 PM2 votes

This is the only reason Nasus IS picked.

He is a beast late game with a unique extremely long slow at the cost of having no way to escape or dash into a fight.

Xela Syab3/11/2015, 3:35:34 PM2 votes

nasus has some pretty easy counters, main thing is to not feed him and let him lane freely. essentially you need a good jung to gank him if he ever pushes, if he freezes lane and farms then you need a 3 man tower gank. he neeeeeeedds to be shut down early asap.

ModKnightsKemplar3/11/2015, 3:32:48 PM2 votes

You have to shut him down early. All those "problems" you talk about are exactly what he's intended to do. He is supposed to be pretty much the best champion in the game late game (except, maybe, for hyper-carries). If you let him free farm, you will lose. Working as intended.

Big Papa Daddy3/11/2015, 12:27:00 PM1 votes

There are SEVERAL ways to not give Nasus the late game he desires but it will require your jungler. If you're having issues with him in lane that is because you are picking horrible champions to play against him. For instance, if you play Cassiopeia you will DUMPSTER him with no issues at all. Also, Renekton destroys Nasus . Here's the thing, Nasus NEEDS to get to late game. If your team pressures him early, you wont allow him to stack efficiently. The one issue with Nasus , is his "W" Wither. That ability is a perma slow and you can't do much about it. Even if you buy a item 3140 to remove it, wait a few seconds and it'll be back on you. And out of this entire scaling post you forgot about Ryze . His late game is ridiculous if the person playing Ryze knows what he/she is doing.
