Nautilus needs a slight dmg buff

RTX Warnoise··22 votes·2,310 views

So i played a game with nautilus after about 3 months pause. Holy shit the shock that i had when i saw how long i took to take out the new blue.

I mean my shield gets popped up with 2 hits and then i just wait for the cooldown so i use my skills again. I realized that Nautilus is far from viable in solo queue. I mean sometimes i gank a guy with 200hp left then i proceed to unleash all m skills on him then he ends up escapig with 20hp or something...imagine my frustration at that time. Not only Nautilus, but other pure tanks need love as well to survive in this League of Nuke.

Naut honestly needs the following:

  1. Higher base AS
  2. Buffed Shield and Damage on W
  3. W and E reduced CD and Mana cost

The damage portion for his auto attacks from his W need to persist for the whole duration regardless of whether the shield got popped or not.

This. So much.

Admittedly I'd think his damage would have to get a light nerf afterwards though, since the situations in which you get a full shield's worth of damage now are slim to none, and there's probably more damage there than one would think.

Naut. Damage buff.

Just what kind of shit are you smoking?

Its like taking ignite on Nasus. YOU'RE DOING/THINKING WRONG.

He's saying that Nautilus doesn't have the damage to properly clear/sustain in the new jungle. Is he correct? I don't know. This jungle is still new, and we're still figuring out proper pathing. If the OP didn't do some research beforehand on how to properly play the new jungle, he could simply be seeing the fruits of his non-labor. Or, Nautilus could be struggling with his damage in the jungle right now, which would be a legitimate problem for him. I haven't tried him since the changes, so I don't know which it is.

The problem is MOST Junglers dont have the damage to properly sustain/clear the jungle.

They kinda went overboard with the monster buffs.

You either have innate sustain built into your kit, or you eat shit.

A really big part of this could be that people haven't adapted to the changes properly yet. If you're going into this jungle expecting to start Blue, take Red, then gank, you're gonna have a bad time.

I've seen a lot of experimentation videos from various high-rated players, and more junglers than you think can do it, it's simply a matter of realizing how.

An early (relative to last season) back to upgrade your machete is pretty much the norm, from what I've seen.

Start Gromp, the poison from smiting it will help you clear, it gives reliable damage that helps clear out any camp.

This^ people need to learn that you have to smite and start gromp/krugs otherwise your clear will be crap.

I'm not certain if it's still possible for your team to leash red, though I suspect it would still tax you a good bit given how hard red hits now. At least starting Krugs means you can burn through a good bit of it's health while it's stunned.

I just finished a game on naut last night his clear speed is pretty stupid cause I was out csing and ganking a ww and I am not too sure if the jungle just really favors hit kit or that ww was bad. Also op if you think he isn't dpsing fast enough learn all of nauts aa resets makes clear 2 times faster

That must have been a pretty terrible Warwick, because by all means he should have stomped all over you. Naut is in a pretty bad place as a jungler right now, and that's not even considering how poorly most tanks are doing in the new jungle/meta.

Except Amumu, because Amumu's always good regardless of the meta. He's the Lee Sin of tanks.

Funny thing is in jungle i agree in lane i disagree The whole tank thing tho i agree perfectly the bar has been raised to champs that are tanky and rape face like olaf/darius the solid initiator tanks like naut/rammas are going to slowly die out

This is wrong. If he gets any buff he will be super OP. Trust me. The problem is only that first blue buff at the starting cause it will strip you of your shield so quickly. Either change your starting runes/masteries for more health or make sure your team knows to give you a sweet leash. Right now Naut is a super strong bully if you do it right.

I wouldn't mind an AS buff, even if it is slight. But he does suffer and get pushed around easy in the jungle right now. Even one camp taken ruins everything for him. I mean he really isn't a counter-jungling champ.

I start at Toad then take Blue, kill wolves, then straight to Golems (what are they called again?) right after that I have enough health and damage to take red just fine. After Red I take the chickens and then head to toad again. Trick is I really only smite the Toad and Golems for their clearing buffs. Smiting Blue or Red in my mind is useless.

Agreed Naut needs buffs. He got nerfed a while back because he could take his buffs and when he ganked if he landed q he could burst half or more of a health bar, I love Naut so it was amazing but maybe a little bit to strong. They over nerfed it and then to try to make it up they buffed his shield but that doesn't help really at all especially since it was a buff to bonus hp scaling which doesn't help early game so he needs some work.

I've jungled naut a time or two since the new jungle came out and I had zero problems killing crap reasonably fast and being able to gank. Here is how I start...

At 1:47-1:48 in I activate my W, it has a 10 second duration and will be broken before it pops. This lets me take the least amount of damage and I usually get 2, sometimes 3 if my top laner takes a hit for me. It also gets the CD started at that point so it will be rdy much quicker. From there I will go to a camp and do this...

AA--W--AA--E--AA doing it correctly you account for nauts slow atk speed and do a lot of damage. Once you get trailblazer that rotation and smite pretty much insta clears most camps and leaves you taking little damage.

Naut overall has a slightly slow starting clear but once he gets 2-3 and has trailblazer his clear is really good and his gank potential with the above rotation is STUPID good.

He has 4 ccs. If he did damage he'd be broken.

Jungle Lux God1 votes

If Nautilus got damage buffs then he'd be pretty broken with all of the CC he has.

If he just got damage buffs to his early levels of his W, then he might be find, but otherwise he can't afford to get extra damage, although to be honest most tanks are both getting the ability to both deal damage and to your normal tank stuff, so it might not be too unreasonable for Naut to get damage buffs.

What about a small bonus damage to monster's with his W or even his E?

I know he sacrifices clear times for tankiness, but his W isn't sturdy enough at low levels, it's hard for him to keep up :(
