Could we bring back Runeglaive as a 'Mana' jungle item?

Hey there, Onwodori here.

While I agree that Runeglaive was not an item for all AP junglers to build, it definitely had it's place and was strong in many ways. It allowed for a different group of champions to become viable and strong in the jungle and I would love to see them come back again.

Perhaps you would have it scale with a multitude of stats to make it the 'all around' jungle item - Mixed champions like Skarner, Jax and Mordekaiser would be quite content to have it!

Let's review real quick what it used to do:

UNIQUE – SPELLBLADE: After using an ability, your next basic attack (on-hit) deals 100% base AD + (30% AP) bonus magic damage (1.5 second cooldown).

Against monsters, SPELLBLADE deals area of effect magic damage around the target and restores 8% missing mana. SPELLBLADE also deals double damage (200% base AD + (60% AP)) against the first monster hit.

A lot of people felt it was too strong so I would think something along the lines of:

UNIQUE - SPELLBLADE: After using an ability, your next basic attack (on-hit) deals 80% base AD + (20% AP) bonus magic damage + (5-90) magic damage (1.5 second cooldown).

Against monsters, SPELLBLADE deals area of effect magic damage around the target and restores 5% missing mana. SPELLBLADE also deals double damage (160% base AD + (40% AP) + (10-180)) against the first monster hit.

This would keep Juggernauts from running away with games and would only really help the AP champions that use it when they are building penetration as well -- stacking straight AP wouldn't help them or rather it would be more helpful for them to have Runic Echoes anyways.

The stats would change to be more about having mana to cast continuously with the base magic damage to compensate for the lack of AP and to encourage people to use the item when it actually makes sense:

item 3715 /item 3706 /item 3711 + item 3057 + item 1027 + 225 gold = 400 Mana + 10% CDR.

Let me know what you think. Champs like:

Nasus Skarner Galio Akali Alistar Ekko Fizz Mordekaiser Gangplank Illaoi Pantheon Poppy TwistedFate Viktor Ziggs MonkeyKing Nautilus Khazix

Would all benefit from this and become viable / more viable in the jungle once again.

Ok sure but why1 votes

item 3100 is better

Plus, mana hasn't really been a problem to most champs, lately.

Agreed with Jora, all you mostly have todo for mana is just smite the blue buff monster and less your a huge gold scrimper, buy the hunter's potion since its auto consume on full stacks and 5 stack use that could be stacked to be used all at once over time tends to resolve those standard issues.

The hunter's talisman also gives major mana regeneration to boot while in the jungle. Plus you already stepped in a major 'wtfbbq i wanna use champions who suk in the jungle but if they could work in the jungle i could pull off some sewious massacre plays.

To me, seeing champions like Kayle and Kog'ma being able to jungle (even if it was a thing before my active time on LoL), tend to be pretty powerful, especially when champions like Kog'ma can long range snipe you with its artilery fire, probably use it to scare you in one direction and then actually be in the bush behind your turret to then rapid fire you down to death, then pull a sion by screwing on dying to a turret to just suicide kill you with that delicious true damage bomb.

Having more champions who can pull the same poke jukes due to long range kits or things that would be extremely potent if used via surprise moments to make it more difficult for a player to react compared to knowing they will try to do it while your laning against them.

Plus being able to build a 'jungle' spell blade would create a ridiculous early game niche such as using chilling smite to slow a enemy down so you can chain spell blade several shots of blast easy or use challenging smite to make use of that powerful damage vulnerability bonus(yes i know it basically makes basic attacks deal bonus true damage, but combine that with a spell blade and you have 3 instances of damage stacked together in auto attacks for a short period of time) to mow a target your ganking hard, to a similar sense to a Nidalee who could melt non'beefie champions hp hard with Q, which combined with a item like lich bane could let them get away with a near kill easy via Q and then auto, then they could either rush you under your turret or keep you around long enough to ready up another Q to hide under your turret to get dove on if you try to run to another one of your turrets or recall.

Though the game is currently still in tank 'niches' which invites literal 'tank built champions' to just run under your turret, kill you and easily walk out with over 50% of your health remaining even when you took 4+ shots from a turret with no shielding to help you out. It does not mean champions especially in the jungle scene are becoming more prevelant in mobility types and marksmen with immobility styles but powerful damage kits to the point where Ashe, one of the lowest costing champions in League of Legends, has to get nerfed because of the 'meta shift'.

""Just because a champion has a interesting kit that makes it look like it 'should' be able to jungle, does not mean it should be allowed to. Since that's like saying every champion should be able to played in any lane and be powerful as hell in them to boot, which contradicts champion vs match ups that can decide fights, except when champions exist to utterly be overpowered as hell whether its due to a overloaded utility kit, a overly simply but likely has ridiculous high scaling or base on what it should actually be. At that point those kind of 'op champions' need to get nerfed down till they are in line with the rest of the champions. They are strong when against certain champions, but equally are weak against certain champions because of counter play.""

honestly the only mana item i feel we need (other then a dedicated potion again) is possibly regen boots for the really thirsty supports or mid laners.
