You should try bullying her early, since that's when you have your advantage. Irelia has two powerspikes, level 9 and finishing guinsoo's/Trinity. Focus on denying her farm and bullying her to death. As Renekton this should actually be really easy for you hehe. Once she hit's either or both of those powerspikes, she's a monster. She does fall off pretty hard though, and if you can stop her from snowballing, her powerspike will feel less powerful.

I guess it was just a result of the midlaner and jungler popping a tent in my lane so I couldn't play that aggressive.

Lots of champions and items counter Irelia . For example, for champions we have XinZhao Jax Malphite Nasus Trundle Volibear DrMundo Yorick Maokai Ekko Fizz etcetera. For items we have item 3110 item 3068 item 3143 item 3025 and other armor items.

Tanky champs that can survive all in. I imagine most people who build the tank dlc pack can do well, but don't play squishy ranged champs like teemo (you have to kill her before level 4ish to even stand a chance, if they know the matchup then you'll get destroyed)
