Garen needs buffs

Darius is an all around better version of Garen. We can try to fix this. Buff his passive to per second instead of per five Buff his Q W E Give him a slow on something because its just way too easy to run away from him

Well, he's not wrong. Garen is pretty much just bad Darius. His passive and W still leave him with less durability than Darius's Q, he can't stick on anybody while Darius has both W and E, his ult is a bad version of Darius's in most situations... I honestly can't think of any time when I'd rather have Garen than Darius. And it's fine that some champs are stronger than others, but it seems unhealthy for the game that one specific champ is a strictly inferior version of another.

I'd rather see him reworked than buffed, though. Give Garen more identity. Maybe scrap his W for an entirely new move. And I'd be fine with his passive being replaced entirely: Most champs have passives that range from valuable in combat to entirely defining of their kit, but Garen has to be one of the few with a passive that literally shuts off when he's in a fight.

Obviously it's not IMPOSSIBLE for him to stick on somebody, but it IS hard. Unless Ezreal facechecks the bush, his E and Iceborn effect should mean that Garen never touches him. Same goes for most champs with kiting potential.

Darius gets kited, too, but at least he has a snare and a pull. Plus, that bleed damage gives Darius kills after the enemy gets away all the time.

honey, garen can run circles around anyone and everyone. every game he gets at least a double kill in each teamfight just because he has the ability to basically run faster than the speed of light at them.

I was going to say, I recently played Garen on Hexakill, (Got an S rank) and I can definitely say that his Passive is his strongest part. Although, I would say he didn't pick up for me until after I finished my BC and started getting Tanky. I just kinda feel like Juggernauts have more of their power late game. (Or at the very least, not in the Laning phase.)

lol wtf? against darius i can see the passive getting buffed, and garens w needs to be something else but q and e dont needs buffs at all his e should be nerfed if anything. and darius and darius are the same exact champs in a way both have executes. but darius vs garen is a skill match up thats all it is

I can't imagine Garen coming even close to winning against Darius, unless the latter is utterly braindead. Darius can just bleed him out and all-in him at his leisure.

lol here is how garen can beat darius garen pokes him out with his spin to win. then when its over garen q to silence and gets away. ive seen garens demolish darius in lane. if garen keeps poking and going back in on darius when he is healthy enough it will allow garen to use his ult on garen easy and win.

How does Garen poke Darius when he is much shorter ranged?

Garen is trash. He needs a rework, one that won't be a shit rush job that gives him a bandaid instead of addressing his problems.

Darius' passive turns Garen's passive off for extended periods of time, though. A poke-and-fade strategy CAN work (I've done it myself, as Garen), but Garen is only going to win in an all-in situation if he can do so before Darius stacks his passive up, which is unlikely.

Every guide I've seen for either champ lists Darius has a counter to Garen, skimming Youtube videos shows either Darius winning or Darius being bad, and I personally stopped playing Garen because people picked Darius into me all the time and crushed lane.

darius only turns garen's passive off for a bit until garen heals all his health back up later in lane and darius cant turn it off because garen is too far up lane to poke safely then garen just steam rolls darius for not being able to heal until a q proc which doesnt mean much in lane unlike garen who just heals all his health in no time.

I don't know why we're discussing isolated hypotheticals. Champion.gg lists Darius as the #1 counter to Garen. Every guide I've skimmed for each champ indicates that Darius beats Garen. I can't find a youtube video of a competently played Darius losing to Garen. I can find plenty of Darius stomping Garen. Garen has a 48% overall win rate, Darius has 51%.

Obviously skill plays a role, and it's not impossible for a Garen to win lane if he's simply the better player, but I'm nowhere near wrong in thinking that Garen is inferior to Darius right now.

So what you're saying is all this time Darius is freely stacking garen while tanking judgement? Darius wins easy, and here is how kiddo.

While silenced, all Darius has to do is keep moving forward so that garen doesn't get too far. Upon the silence ending, apprehend garen and start over, this time garen's abilities are on cd and he's stuck with Auto attacking or continuing to run, and Darius in the meantime is probably building up to, if he doesn't have it already, 5 stacks. At 5 stacks, garen loses so disgustingly hard it's not even funny.

-platinum 2 darius OTP with plenty of experience vs garen back when I was gold (you dont see garen at all up here for clear reasons)

like darius can catch up to 2fast2garen, spin to win, silence, run and with phage garen is impossible to catch with darius. darius has only a limited time to actually counter garen and until spin2win gets phage darius is jsut left in the dust. happenbs EVERY single game whether its me playing top or literally anyone else playing top

are you serious garen does no damage? Ive build garen 100% tank no damage items and I killed the enemy back line before I got to half health. XD this guy is so funny
