Looking for some tips on how to climb as a support main
Im a support main and ive been having some trouble climbing out of elo hell and i was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to climb better, Thank you!

While I am in Silver myself as a support main and need to start my ranked climb this season (waiting until I get mastery 5 on malzahar), I have felt SO MUCH MORE in control over a game when I play Zyra/Brand over how a game goes. Silver is kind of a TDM where objectives aren't so important so being able to get kills and wipe their team is fairly important. The normal support carry style where you rely on others to get kills and scale up isn't as safe I find usually because you rely on other people... and they're silver... and we suck. lol
EDIT: I still try to play like a support. Remember that Zyra and Brand are extremely gold efficient with their damage (aka they don't need tons of items to do a lot of damage), so you don't have to go hog while stealing CS and securing kills from your other allies who DO need the gold. I still will try to let the ADC or other carries get the kills if they can. Zyra/Brand can still peel with their innate CC, and Ryali's when you finish it.
I love playing support too, but I understand your plight.
There is nothing more depressing than being stuck with an idiot ADC when you picked support. It really ruins your match, possibly your whole day... when that happens I say fuck it and build pure DPS.

I've found that you also can't be afraid to finish the job if you can see your ADC isn't going to be able to. If you have access to murder the enemy and your ADC is either fleeing, out of range, or about to die, go for the kill. It is better to get kill gold, get your ADC the assist gold than either not get a kill/assist at all or lose your ADC while waiting for them to land the killing blow.
Blitz isn't a bad choice just don't grab the tank. Also your team is blind when it comes to pings so mass ping when you want to do something or type in chat.
tank engage supp are your friends. blitz or naut would be your best bet.
You want to have at least 3 supports mastered in case picks and bans don't go your way. You want a tank, healer, and a mage support. I'd start with nautilus, nami, and brand or zyra. Pick a tank when your team doesn't have one, pick a mage when your team is full AD, pick a healer when you want to.
I started off supporting with nami. She's rarely banned or picked, and she's a good pick in most match ups.
FInd a duo adc who is decent, play 
, her ability to keep her teammates alive and peel while yall are kiting is HUGE, even with a bad adc just roam and if you have 2 others who arent potatoes on your team peel and do setup CC for them and you can win. People in low elo will chase a janna right into a bait even though her tornadoes will make her nigh impossible to catch before she makes it to her team stand near your carries, oh the melee assassin jumped in, ult> they get pushed away.
A good janna is very frustrating to play against.
