how to deal with veigar?

im genuinely stuck on what to do against veigars, especially since i dont play mid. when he gets ahead, the game is usually decided there for me. i play top and support, and the biggest problem i have with him is his E, it completely traps me and removes me from the fight. how do i approach veigar without getting trapped? he's usually the person i most want to focus, but when i get close, i get trapped in his E. im really trying to not sound salty here, because i know veigar isn't an amazing champ. i just find him annoying to deal with, and i can never properly lock him down for my team to kill him. any tips?
