On The Quinn Rework
Riot... My favorite champion Riot... Where did she go Riot... ;-;
Quinn is supposed to be an assassin with dmg nobody expects because she is underplayed. She was never truly viable in high levels of competitive play (LCS'n stuff). Her flaw was her lack of escapes and vulnerability after doing a full combo on someone. Making her a shit ton of fun to play in solo q but not so much in organized.
Changes:
- Tag Team (R) has been heavily repurposed into a strategic map mobility tool:
- Tag Team's visuals have been changed from Quinn leaving the game space to Valor flying Quinn around beneath her.
- Tag Team now has a 2-second channel at its start, and no longer has combat spells or basic attacks.
- Tag Team now has no cooldown, and its Movement Speed bonus is now very dramatic.
- Skystrike has been retained, but deals less damage and does not deal increased damage based on targets' missing Health.
- Blinding Assault (Q) has been repurposed (and renamed) into more of a waveclearing tool and less of a dueling tool:
- Q's name has been changed to Aerial Assault, because... the spell no longer blinds.
- Aerial Assault now marks its primary target as Vulnerable (passive mark).
- Aerial Assault now does up to double damage based on targets' missing Health.
- Half of Aerial Assault's cooldown is refunded if it kills at least one enemy.
- Various other changes:
- Harrier (P) attacks now deal a percentage of Quinn's total AD rather than a base and bonus AD ratio.
- Vault (E) has had its dash speed increased, and it should now more reliably return you along the vector you dashed in on.
My Opinion: (I know these changes aren't live yet and my opinion may change but these are my initial thoughts)
R - Ug rito why. It's almost as if you guys listened to G&B complaints about the fun and new mechanics that Riot CertainlyT added to the game and then took it to the extreme and decided to only make abilities that were linear and pointless. I could give less fucks if this new ult gave me 2000 MS because it completely removes her assassination potential which made her so fun. Also from the single screen shot given of her new ult I can only imagine how stupid that animation will look like. Probably like a pokemon trainer riding beneath their Pidgey. Also a key factor to split pushing is being able to run away as fast as possible form lane if someone comes after you (you cant stay and fight because your dueling was stripped). With the ult it may be possible to run away in time but that 2 second channel time gets me worried just a bit. Harrier might as well have been removed since its dmg is slashed.
Q - What was once her bread and butter for her dueling potential is now a wave clear tool. sigh so much for being able to 1v1 that vayne and laugh as they qq and her team rages at her. Now I can push waves faster i guess though. It's not like that was ever a problem since you know adc's have easy wave clears. Don't understand the point of this. I'm just hoping they removed the AP ratio on it.
W - I don't think they touched this. Always kinda wanted it to give true sight but eh might just be my eternal hatred towards shaco and twitch. This used to give a passive AS boost while in ult but since the ult is different W is now kinda pointless since it already has a 40second cooldown. This needs compensation.
E - Cleaned up a bit of it's buggy-ness and made it faster. Seems good to me. GJ
TL;DR - Quinn went from an assassin adc to a glorified split pushing adc. She still has very little team fight potential. She is pretty much now Tristanna except with 0 team fighting ability and a shittier attack range.
This is open for discussion. There are many ways Quinn has been played pre-changes so some may like this more than others.
