Items for Specific Classes
Instead of just having one large pool of items that anyone and everyone can choose from, why not create 2 pools of items.
Pool 1: Everyone can build (boots, gold income, etc) Pool 2: Class Specific
- Assassins can then have their armor pen/lethality items.
- ADCs can have their attack speed items.
- Tanks can have their HP and defensive items.
- Mages can have heavy AP items.
- Etc, etc. The point is, you will eliminate this "Assassins building tank" and "ADCs building penetration" builds. I'm not saying this is awful and surely don't limit everything, I'm saying categorize SOME of the items better to assist the balance and health of the gameplay.
What better time than the pre-season to experiment? :)
