Xayah Root clarity

So I've been playing a bit of Xayah, she is SUPER fun to play. I'm not 100% perfect with her E, rooting targets, but when I do manage to root them its difficult to tell. I've only used her Cosmic Dusk skin so I have no input for her base skin. I'll notice that I rooted the enemy only if I stare at them, which is unlikely in a hectic team fight. So its on you to guess if you're gonna root them, I'm wrong a good bit of the time with that guess.
