Interesting, out of curiosity, why gauntlet over another ap item to build into passive and nashors? I used to like gunblade personally since you get full heal on ult.

What I would think is the armor just to be tanky enough to not get killed in 5 hits, she needs the armor/MR more than the damage.

I can see both sides, I liked lichs too, especially split pushing
Yeah that is the surprising thing, not needing Gunblade and therefore saving $. The Gauntlet I just choose over other defensive options bc that is how I play. The sheen proc on the armor beats the other options for me. For the build above, the q, w, r ult combo still wrecks but is added onto by massive dps with survivability (even a little extra stickiness on top of her E).
I like to have as many options as possible for making plays so a lot of times that involves taking dmg; so on the champs I can, I build some tank. The more I can do, the better, for how I play.
Also sadly this is a late game thing so not really suitable for most ranked games.

I used to run gunblade zhonyas nashors lichs rageblade ludens and could solo vilemaw, but that was when aether wisp built into those items so I didn't need boots. Sometimes exchange void for lichs, or drop zhonyas if I'm not getting wiped
If it works then awesome! I don't really do glass cannon. On an AP Mage or a Zed-like I will full dmg. But even on Malzahar I will get a tank item if team needs me to do more (take some aggro while ulting). I wanted to mainly DPS on top of the Ult combo and live in process, as u can see from atk speed boots over penetration. Also the gauntlet and void staff are relatively cheap. I would sell void staff for gunblade before gauntlet, and it is just personal preference.

really depends on the comp, vs tanks I go full AS-onhit, even BorK if needed
Same. In most games I build what is needed. The build above just does the job stated, but is mostly unrealistic in practice.
I mean that's not really an assassin build, and Diana has always been more of an AP dive fighter, sooooo...
Yup. That is what I like, multiple viable possibilities. I was going for getting the most out of the passive while still bursting.
She is played AP Burst 90% of time. This just opens peoples' eyes.
