Playing Normals or Draft just make you a better player?

I kinda hate Normals, but I'm willing to play it on weekends. (I go on tilt and stew on stuff kinda easilly).

  1. Are Normals just gonna make me a better player. Or should I just play Draft Mode till I level up to 30.
  2. How do you ignore the salty players?

honestly i would suggest doing aram. you have no idea what you are good at and you can improve on rolls as you go. what is hard to improve on is team fighting. when my friends first started about this time last year i pretty much made them play like 200 games of aram lol.... they suck bad in lane... but we win a lot of games because we can own in a mid game team fight.

I play Normal (Draft) to work on my fundamentals (last hitting, champion mechanics, laning phase). I play ARAM to tune my team-fighting skills (positioning, etc...) of course ARAM will only help so much since it isn't Summoner's Rift, but it is still useful (in my opinion). After I feel comfortable enough with a champion I will try them in ranked.

I have gotten use to ignoring the salty players. If their chat gets offensive enough I will mute/report. Just don't let people goad you into getting yourself in trouble. No one in the league community is worth getting worked up and frustrated. Remember to have fun and that bad games will happen but so will good ones. Gotta take it all in stride.

  1. Either is fine. Both will prepare you for the salt mines in ranked.

  2. Mute anyone who makes you even a tiny bit salty. Don't reply to them just mute them at the first sign of salt.

  1. Draft mode is "normals". And how wouldn't they be able to make someone better? You aren't playing a different game.
  2. Maturity and perspective.

Blind pick is fucking terrible for everything but trolling / insta-locking whatever champion you want to play and refusing to compromise (which is often trolling).

Draft pick will (usually) yield better players and more fair games. Thereby letting you (usually) get a handle on every single aspect of the game.

It will also teach you a lot more about match ups and how to read picks, as well as how to play champions in certain MUs and how to rune / mastery them in comparison to the team / champ you're against.

most people don't really try in normals but it's useful for learning new champs and new mechanics, it's basically the same thing as ranked just not very competitive and most people will fuck around for 40 mins without getting objectives because they're too lazy lol

If you intend on playing Ranked, I would definitely go with Normal draft. The pick and Ban phase is inevitably part of the game itself. Once you have a good understanding of who's good against who, and team composition, then applying that to Draft will best prep you for ranked.
