Can We Get Some Context on the TF Q Nerf?

Title. Not entirely sure why Q is being nerfed on one of the worst, if not THE worst, damage dealing mages. Granted, I don't play TF for his damage but instead his utility, but wild cards hits like a wet noodle unless TF is fed af. The scaling on the range of Destiny is welcome, but doesn't at all make up for the seemingly pointless Q damage nerf.
