Riot, please read this

A lot of support players are concerned about the new item changes and the removal of core support items. I'll give riot the benefit of the doubt, as you (Riot Games) have more information about the game and plans of the game's future.

I believe more communication about these changes will ease players if we can be told the reasoning of them beyond what is known thus far as well as possible changes in the future regarding support utilization.

If riot could kindly go into more detail many support players would appreciate it.

One of the major concerns I believe that are the forefront of support mains such as myself is "what kinds of items can we expect in the future for supports to get certain actives and active builds back for champs and players that heavily relied on them?"

I just think its pointless and stupid. Idk why the hell they'd remove sightstone.

With any luck riot will see this and answer. Just because a rioter doesn't respond doesn't mean someone in the office won't see this.

wasn't the reason for sightstone removal because during the ardent meta they saw most supports rushing ardent, forgoing sighstone until they completed ardent, and that they interpreted that as supports no longer needing SS?

afaik its two-fold

Part of the reason is that especially lately everyone is using a support item even when they aren't support. Back when we had philo stone and heart of gold supports had the same issue, what used to be support's only form of gold income now becomes extra income for everyone else, putting the support even further behind when the intent is to keep supports up to scale through the game.

For example, midlaners who pick up item 3303 or adcs who are picking up item 3097 . Overall new SS mechanics on reworked support items might not work out as riot has planned. At least adcs will take a major hit by not being able to use that well. Which will make enchanters more valuable.
