Does everyone hate Mark/Dash?
I don't. ARAMs are a lot more fun for me now.
I'm not saying that it doesn't need a nerf. I'm saying I don't want it removed.

It's horrible. Now, when I get a melee champion I have a way to actually get to the long range poke champions instead of getting to play dodge all the things until flash or my ultimate is off cooldown. Please Rito, look into you hearts and remove this awful spell so that Nid and friends can make life miserable for me again.
At first I thought Mark/Dash was great
Then I actually played ARAM and thought it needed a nerf
Now I am of the opinion that it needs to be entirely removed and replaced with something else
Real talk : Mark/Dash was thoughtlessly implemented and it doesn't benefit the champions who actually needed help (
,
,
) nearly as much as it benefits champions who did not need any help (
,
,
,
,
,
). Surprise surprise, champions with innate mobility and/or massive AoE lockdown can abuse Mark/Dash until it becomes obscene. Meanwhile, the champs who actually needed help are still shit tier.
Add on top of that the fact that Mark/Dash completely changes the way everyone plays while requiring no thought and not costing any real resource because of its stupidly low cooldown and I call this summoner spell a complete failure.
As it stands right now I think Riot should just remove Mark/Dash and instead focus on nerfing mana regen and buffing health regen on the map, mostly though items, but also by tweaking the global aura. Then, after implementing changes they should have been working on since the implementation of ARAM as a permanent game mode, they should look at more solutions.
TL;DR Mark/Dash doesn't help people who needed help on ARAM and should be removed while also nerfing poke through gating mana regen.
I honestly don't hate Mark/Dash.
What do hate, is about half the people who take it.
"Well, I hit an enemy that's next to four of his allies, and my team is about a mile behind me... GOIN' IN BOYS"
I don't feel like it solves anything. It makes it feel a bit better to play melee versus ranged but even though playing against poke comps has always felt horrible, balance-wise they weren't a massive issue. Nidalee has a pretty terrible ARAM winrate, for example.
They made melee champs feel a lot better to play but they also made them a lot stronger and considering a lot of melee champs already had excellent winrates, that doesn't seem ideal. All they've done is replace "oh my god I hate getting poked so much" on melee champs with "oh my god I hate being engaged on so much" on ranged champs, while making strong melee champs stronger and leaving the true bottom tier champs in the exact same place. IMO it's not solved much of anything, just replaced one problem with another. And I feel like a lot of the people talking about how "tanks can be played now" really mean "tanks are an easy win now" considering how high a lot of their winrates now are.
I loved ARAM because it was a way to mostly skip laning and go straight into teamfights. The fights were pretty representative of a straight-up siege scenario, and that was fun. Now it's just a massive clusterfuck 24/7. It was amusing for a few games, but now it's just annoying.
I personally feel like it's more of a gimmick and it should have been a separate ARAM que. Just feels too much like the Poro King.
it should be introduced into summoner rift. The chaos it will cause.
It would be glorious.
i hate it cuz it just makes melee champions like lee and jax and kass even stronger and it honestly hasnt changed anything look at winrates dude long range poke and sustain are still on top
Yes, it's an awful spell and it should be removed. It's not helping champions that it was meant for and it just turned ARAM into a half assed poro king.
All these people feel like they can finally do something against poke comps. Hate to tell you all, but win rates on those troubled champions have barely budged if at all. The only difference is that now people can claim it's not because they couldn't engage, except that it was never because they couldn't engage.
The games are definitely less fun for me. I went from playing 80% games ARAM to none. I was excited when they were about to release snowball because it sounded like it's just the thing ARAM needs to make it even more awesome, but it turned into a shitshow where it's not more balanced to address disadvantaged comps, but destroys balance even more in favor comps that shouldn't need it (i.e. guys with a lot of pokes and dashes). And tanks of course.
In my opinion, they should make it, I don't know how, but they should make it so that there's not much incentive to pick for people that don't need it. I don't know how, remove damage, nerf cooldown to ground, something else, rework it completely, I don't know.
Cooldown seems like the thing that is easiest to nerf, because making it absurdly long will move people to pick barrier/heal instead. Hopefully.
I got
on aram.
I took Mark/Dash, and went full ap.
I love the spell./
I used to hate it.
Then I learned to counter it the next day. Now I love it when people towerdive and we murder them under tower, without them getting a kill.
The only reason I don't like it is because it makes poke champions even more annoying. Just played against a nid, sivir, tf and I had to worry about dodging abilities and mark/dash.
I like it being used on melee champs to give them a chance but it makes poke champs more annoying.
Personally I enjoy it, but that is mostly because I love the chaos it causes
I don't hate it, I just think it is overturned and needs to have a longer cooldown until you get the refund for dashing, that way you actually have to land it and commit, instead of just using it for free poke (which is the thing that mark/dash was supposed to limit, not enable). It basically needs to be tailored so it's only really good for the melees who want it for gap close (like it was supposed to be), instead of a spell that everyone uses for a free nuke/dash/escape/poke etc.
would you see Mark/Dash in a normal game? No
it change the game as a 5 vs 5 even in ARAM.
It was fun as a special mode, so make it a special mode.
It's the same thing with the removal of warmog and BT in ARAM because the FOTM was stacking those items. just stop changing current modes and give options to your players
I play tons of ARAM, I hate it. It is an easy mechanic, but it isn't fun.
Meh, its just replaced one problem with another. First it was "no poke gg we lose" Now its "no chain cc, gg we lose"
the team that rolls three tanks wins now, while the team that rolls a pretty a balanced team gets steam rolled. It honestly doesn't help the champs that needed it, while helping ones that already had good gap closers. Now they get to save it for after the mark/dash when that squishy adc or mage flashes away.
Also, the people say "just dodge it" they dont have to hit you with it. A minion near enough to get on top of you and next thing you know 5 bruisers are in your face.
Yes, I hate mark/dash. I feel like it reversed the problem it was supposed to "fix". The game is seriously one-sided most of the time with no way to recover. Poke teams have no chance against heavy engage/cc champions with the mark/dash. It's stupid that kiting is basically nonexistent and everyone has to dodge snowballs all day. It's just too much constant pressure.
Then there's the problem that EVERYONE takes the mark/dash, even people who do NOT want to dash, ever. Strategy has gone out the window.
I feel it was fun for Poro King, but as someone who only plays ARAM, it's really ruining it for me. Maybe it needs a nerf. While it did allow more champions to become viable, it has also led to champs that were already OP to become even more so. It's really troublesome.

people just hate it cause it makes tanks viable, much like they anything that makes tanks viable cause "Hurr Durr i cant just roll my face on a keyboard and win wtf is this shit!" it is a bit stronk right now though thats why riot is toning it down a bit on pbe by splitting the damage between the mark and the dash instead of being all on mark .
