Can Someone Explain to me How the New Splashing LP Mechanic Works?

I just read this and I'm not quite sure I understand the whole splashing thing. Can someone explain it?

Next year youll have a seperate solo rank for everyrole. So say your playing off role and gold in your main which for this well say is mid. But say silver in bot. If your quein in bot itll match you in silver. But since a diamond should have bettet game knowlegde than a gold regardless of role every role gets lp but the role you played gets the most.
