shyvanna's E, does it do what I think it does?

Magic Damage: 60 / 100 / 140 / 180 / 220 (+ 30% AP)

Dragon's Descent Dragon Form: Flame Breath explodes upon hitting a champion or reaching the target location, dealing 100 - 200 (based on level) (+ 30% AP) bonus magic damage to them and surrounding enemies within a range and scorching the earth for 4 seconds. Enemies on scorched earth take 60 - 120 (based on level) (+ 20% AP) magic damage per second, and are persistently marked for Flame Breath's bonus on-hit damage.

Shyvana's basic attacks against marked enemies deal 2.5% of their maximum health as bonus magic damage, capped at 100 against monsters.

So basically that would mean that shyvanna could without a single autoattack and 0 ap deal 220 + 120*4 = 700 magic damage with her E in dragon form?

If they stand in the small field for the whole 4 sec and she is at lvl 18 yes. but that is not include the fact mr and such.

700 magic damage over 4 seconds is not really that impressive

ScissorsNstuff1 votes

impressive or not that's a 480 damage single target increase

It's an ultimate empowered ability. And being damage over time in a fixed area means it is allowed to be greater. Her previous ability was a pretty fast projectile, a pass-through skillshot, and actually covered a pretty large area. All of the damage was applied instantly and it was incredibly difficult to dodge. The damage couldn't be as strong.

Are you seriously saying that Shyvana needs to be nerfed? Really? She's a textbook snowball champion that can't do anything when behind.

Why is everyone rushing in to defend her? I just asked how something worked lol.

The desperation makes ppl seem guilty

not defending i simply answer the question lol. i mean it's true if they stand still and fight there no denying that. However with that said like many have stated that is of course for her ultimate but it's all good.

Because you're acting like it is broken when it is really not.

How does saying that her kit makes sense seem desperate?

I suppose I could be misinterpreting the intention of your post, which is not hard to do in a text format

The fact that you made a post about this and emboldened the final sentence which highlights the fact that her ability has the potential to deal a large amount of damage, makes it seem as if you are suggesting that it is broken.

I would expect that other people are making this assumption too, which is why they are "defending" her.

i bolded the actual question after the wall of text

bolding works funny on this site so it was easier to just do the last line instead of all of the others

I apologize then.

And as I mentioned, that is probably why you got more negative comments.

So you just wanted to know if your math was correct?

From what I understand, you're very close.

60 / 100 / 140 / 180 / 220 (+30% AP) for the passthrough damage

+100 (+5 @ level 7, 8, 9, 10, then +10 each level up to 18) for the explosion damage

+60 (+5 per level 7 - 18) per second for up to 4 seconds.

So 5 ranks, at level 18 with 0 AP

220 + 200

Then if the enemy remains in the AOE for the full 4 seconds.

+120 x 4

220 + 200 + 480 = 700 magic damage.

So your final value is correct, but it looks like you dropped the explosion damage from your equation. (No big deal)

But yeah, you're right about it being strong, and for the reasons that I gave earlier, it should be allowed to be.

Sorry, if it seems as if I literally just repeated what you said, but I wanted to be as clear as I could

You missed the 200 flat bonus damage, which brings the total over four seconds to 900

Of course, its only ever going to be an effective 220 + 200 + 120 = 540 damage, because no one will ever take more than a single tick of damage unless they're CC'd in place, something Shyvana can't do herself. Is that balanced? Maybe not, but I don't think its as broken as it looks, given that its an ability that does nothing but do damage on a champion whose primary purpose is damage.

to move while fighting her reduces your damage especially if you rely on attack speed

The threat has meaning of its own

Enemies on scorched earth - while they are in it. Move away and you wont take damage anymore
