Its not broken to be tanky and deal damage

There are 3 dynamics to consider

offense defense utility

tanky champs with a lot of offense and defense can be very frustrating but they tend to lack in utility. But what does this mean??? Well to put it simply there is a disproportionate level of mechanical skill involved with abusing offense, defense, or utility.

That is why typically as long as the team isn't stupid, in one for all supports will beat bruisers for much if not all of the match unless they are actually hardcountered which can happen on occasion. Because dealing with utility is also very difficult when it is being used properly.

Ways utility is used..

  • evading minion damage after harass, minions can easily deal more than ignite if you let them. Some champs have a way to deal with this others don't

  • Wave freezing, some champs don't have the sustain for this or a shield

  • mobility, some champs get to overcome this weakness periodically but once that's over usually they tend to be a lot weaker

  • sustain in general, you can build sustain yes but that kills your build tempo and causes other issues

  • lack of kit synergy, yes getting free armor pen is very strong but true damage does not scale with free armor pen and neither does building armor penetration in some cases.

  • scaling, just because you can kill 1 teemo with a warmogs doesn't mean you could kill 2 with a bloodthirster. Scaling matters. Some of these champs don't really scale well with offense meaning that after you reach a certain level of tankyness they cant realistically do anything to you very quickly

  • reliability of abilities, unreliable abilities can be abused for chances to engage and disengage.

  • general kitability, it doesn't always mean you get to deal damage while you run. The point is that Volibear could build 7 item 3031 somehow and he will still need more than 5 seconds to kill anyone in most cases simply because they clicked away from him. Lets see you do that against Evelynn or Ekko

name any champion and I will tell you abit about where they fall on the Offense, defense, utility triangle

You could also consider it to be a 3 sided pyramid if you take into consideration the unbalanceable factors such as information advanatge

so... you can can 5k of heal 300 armor/200 magic res. and pretty much go 1v5 and get a pentakill without losing 50% of your life, and you call that "not broken" ? dafaq?

the only way that's happening is if the other team is dumb enough to not build armor/magic pen. And that's if you build purely as a tank and take no damage, in which case that 1v5 will take ages

there is nothing inherently broken about what you just stated. It all depends on what sort of game that's being played in and what the actual objectives of said game are as well as the capabilities of the other champs.

For example, if noobs try to 1v4 illaoi she might survive and get a quadra but if a mildly intelligent player of higher skill level tried to 1v1 that same illaoi he'd have a better chance of killing her simply because he isn't an idiot or a noob. There are some champs who do better in a 1v5 than a 1v1 therefore there are scenarios where this is not broken.

fighter champ fights you duelist defeats you in fights

It's completely fine and normal to be tanky and still be able to deal damage. It's an innate feature in a plethora of similar and successful models/games--not just LoL.

Look at the stats at the conclusion of any game that you think "tanks are doing too much damage in": those "tanks" are not topping the damage meters, I guarantee that.

If the carry is building full damage and goes against something building defensively (for the most part), chances are the latter is going to persevere and end up appearing to out damage the carry in such an interaction, when in reality they are just "drain tanking" the carry's damage. That's just the nature of the game. Tanks, and even Bruisers/fighters, don't deal too much damage; carry's are just extremely squishy (like they are supposed to be).
