While I love Ryze's character and think he needs more love, the kits is icky and Annie has more use in a team fight.

Ryze will have extreme difficulty against most mid lane match ups. Poke oriented mids (Lux, Morgana, Ziggs) will out farm and harass him. Assassin Mids (Zed, Fizz) will style all over his face and make it difficult for him to trade properly. Annie carries an extreme threat radius and a powerful garenteed all-in that ryze can't match at lvl 6.
