Why do you hate Zac Riot?

Howling Abyss has it's health regen penalty increased on the PBE from 20% to 50%. Zac goes from unviable to complete trash on that map. He's not like Mundo or Garen who can heal their health by just backing off and standing there. Zac has to hit something which means 97% of the time there's an enemy champion nearby and he'll take more damage just trying to get his health back.

This on top of item 3713 being able to smite all 4 of his revive blobs at the same time along with the planned 2 smites at once means he's a bad pick in Summoner's Rift and Twisted Treeline. This makes me think you guys hate him. He still hasn't gotten a new skin either.

If it weren't for Zac being announced shortly after I joined league I doubt I would still be playing today. I love his character, I love his concept, and I love playing him. My first RP purchase was Zac (yeah I bought some champs with RP when I joined). I like the direction you've been taking him with recent buffs by having his W and E interact with his passive in different ways (Give his Q the ability to pick up blobs and it'll be perfect) but until the above issues get fixed I have no real reason to play him anymore. Make Zac's revive the exception to the AoE damage of item 3713 (Much like how item 3097 doesn't proc off them) and give Zac a unique trinket or something on Howling abyss.

His health costs are WAY too expensive for the damage they do. The blobs are way too RNG based, and his health and other regen stats just aren't good enough to compensate for that.

I can't agree more. He got a nifty buff in this latest patch, but it's still not enough to keep him from becoming the proverbial slime at the bottom of the champion pool. I love to play Zac, everything he says is great, his abilities are fun to use, and he just plain looks cool. I even went so far as to install custom skin mods so he looks like Majin Buu because it made it THAT much cooler to dive into a teamfight with him.

But my god is he unviable. Ever so often I'll see one do really well, but it's not because of him. It's more because he was in the right spot to get fed off of assists or was able to pick off EXTREMELY low health enemies half by chance.

Currently my Major issue is having low survivability with his passive.

Lets all see it like this. Anivia has a 240 second cooldown on her passive. With -40/-25/-10/+5/+20 armor and maigc resist when in her passive. She gains 100% of HP. And 100% of resistances. ANd some bonuses even higher. It takes 6 seconds to revive. CDR: 240 Health back: 0-100% Resistances: 100% The time it takes: 6

Zac.... Has a 300 second cooldown. Sends out 4 blobs that each have 12% of his max health. And 50% of his total resistances.... 50%!!! Depending on the health of the blobs, he will regain 10-50% of his max HP as life. But must wait 8 seconds.... He can be hit by AoE 4 times over. CDR: 300 Health back: 0-50% Resistances: 50% The time it takes: 8

Like what the heck Riot? Is this because Zac is mostly a tank, that it would be hard to kill a tank who goes down in a team fight? Well I play Anivia with a Frozen heart. A bit tanky. And ~3k HP. In a long teamfigth I have a total of 6K HP, with ~214 armor and ~140 MR.

Zac is a super cool, fun and interesting champ that really needs love. He promotes creative ganking patterns and good teamwork. If any jungler should be viable it's him. He will teach you good habits imo. I can't speak for top zac, had no interest in laning him.

I think they should buff up his damage a bit, specifically on q and give tenacity on ult again. He got nerfed for his super sustain top, but im sure he can be buffed elsewhere.

whats the point of making him tanky if no one in the fight cares about him after his ult is down.

He can't top lane, no damage there. Can barely do the jungle because of even less damage (the gromp buff does more)

I can see the blazing smite but other than that there really isn't any thing wrong with Zac. He's a godlike disrupter with a decent escape/engage. He is a super tank and all he needs is a liandris and he can go to town on any other tank with built in sustain and HP shred, this on top of his percent damages. Some champs work on ARAM, others don't. This is why there is a reroll function, the game isn't balanced around ARAM, it's barely a legitimate gamemode.

I don't think comparing Mundo and Garen to Zac is fair. Mundo is a meat shield, Garen is a meatshield with an execute. Zac is a CC tank.

Zac really suffers from all the problems most melees suffer in ARAM.

everytime i play zac with an enemy jungler with item 3713 just ends you. and heimer top needs to stop happening, its becoming an evil trend

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought they buffed him for aram. It says it went from 20% reduced healing to 50% reduced healing on allies. To me that sounds like self healing is now totally good, or that's just worded poorly.

Honestly, his passive just needs to not be able to be hit with smite. It is silly that it can be as he is the only champ you can smite directly. You can smite tibbers and stuff but that isn't the same as smiting annie herself.

I'm not replying to the section about Twisted Treeline/Howling Abyss, but on Summoner's rift, I don't think he's in a terrible spot. I tend to play him more as a top laner than a jungler, since there are many junglers that can outperform him, but as a top laner, it's nearly impossible to kill him if you play safe. Sure, you may lose some farm, but you'll be building mostly tank items anyways, so it doesn't matter. He will always be one of the best teamfight initators with all that AoE damage, knockup, and slow.

problem i think wth zac is how his skill order. when jungling you want to max E for the larger range but then u have crap dmg and a crap slow(20% on his Q) Q is maxed last most times so u have a 20% slow untill late game. and just make him immune to cc while ult'ing so annoying getting cc'd making ur ult worthless. zac is good for his cc, so if u stop his ult he loses his value then is completely ignored because he has no dmg and his q is just a worthless ability. i think his Q needs a dmg buff and slow buff so disrespectful how Braum gets new skin before Zac its like a slap in the face to all who play zac.

I like Zac and want to use him, but he seems so unviable!

His lore is cool, he looks cool, his lines are cool, his abilities seem cool. EVERYTHING ABOUT HIM IS COOL EXCEPT HIS VIABILITY

Zac was so fun on release and was an awesome champion, but with the new smites absolutely wrecking him and his already precarious position in the whole league tiers, he is slimey garbage.

Please fix.

Sorry my friend but Zac is truly the spectacular example of the "champion who-must-not-be-viable even remotely".

His kit is absurd there is no way to describe it. Building pure tank to get the benefits of a tank WHILE dealing crapton damage is ballshit no offense.

He is fun, he is original but the way his kit works it is literally impossible to balance and they indeed should keep him on the UP side rather.

A logical addition would be if they'd give mana for him, so at least he should be playing around a mana pool as well and would open up path for reasonable buffs in return, but like this with no costs and getting stronger both on defense and offense side only building tank items is a big no-no.

Zac's passive is complete ass compared to others. Compared to someone like Aatrox, I see absolutely no positive on Zac's side, it take nearly 3 times the amount of time to revive then it does for Aatrox, and he's invulnerable during that time. The way I see it, even Anivia has a better passive in every way, takes 6 seconds, can bring her up to maximum health, and she doesn't scatter all over the place. His passive needs to be completely changed because 90% of the time you die.

Howling Abyss really should just change the de-buff from all heals to non-self heals. You generally don't see people like Garen, Vlad, or Zac being OP on the map. But then there is Sona, Soraka (Not as much anymore with her rework), Nami, even Taric which everybody and their mother seems to complain about when facing them.

Far as ARAM goes, it needs it's own trinket line to handle it's issues.

  • GW(Under 40% hp, activate for all damage to apply)
  • Shield-Piercing(IMO a group with multiple shields is far more painful to face than group of healers)
  • Guardian's Horn(remove stats, just the active)
  • Orb of Winter(Noob trap in current form anyway)
  • Sweeper(Long cooldown at early levels, don't want to make Shako useless now)
  • Cannon(deals true damage to towers based on level, to help teams that don't have champions who can damage towers very well)

This would help ARAM a ton in how you fight and handle the enemy team.

With a GW trinket, the healing debuff may not even be needed. If they're going to keep it, they at least need to reduce the health cost on abilities

his q does need to be able to pick up blops you spend a lot of time running around the camp picking your blops up
