okay, so, I just played a cassiopeia mid game, and I was against an olaf mid. it made me think, "when should i start building armor?". Usually, My first items for cass are either Morell or Rabadons, then rylai's. When should I build my first armor item? should it be my first item? how many armor items should i build, cuz i usually like to go full ap
Dêcoy3 votesA lot of times when Im in a matchups like Lux/Ahri/Whatever AP champion Vs Yasuos or Zeds I just build Armguard, go for my first item and finish Zhonya after it. A lot of times that Armguard will be more than enough for laning phase. Same with abyssal, If I don't need it asap I just build Negatron, build first item and go for Abyssal afterwards. Especially that Abyssal now scales with lvl, so its not as good early game as it used to be. And with Maw is same - Hexdrinker into first item into Maw.
GankLord1 votesIt depends on the match up but in that case build your core item first then build zhonya's for the armor. I think mid game is the best time to build armor that being said on a totally different note I hate when adcs wait until late game to build armor pen. It should be the 3rd item you buy as an adc after either your as item or your ad item or else your damage will mean nothing mid to early late game.
