Champions with One shot potential > Other Champs

So this is just a broad question on league of legends,

Are Champions that have One shot potentials better than those who don't? For example :

Take a champion like Diana, who can easily one shot someone Mid-Late game. Then, take another champion like Orianna, who does damage, but can't one shot like Diana does. In this sense, is it right to say Diana is a stronger champ than Orianna? is it right to say she brings more to her team, or is there more to it?

If the answer is Yes, (Diana is technically a stronger champion than Orianna), does that mean a team a team that picks 5 champions that can one-shot will be more superior to a team that picks champions like Orianna, Elise, Morgana, etc. Please Elaborate :)

Yes, in my opinion they are. The Assassin's ability to an enemy champion off the map is tremendous. It could snowball a lane, it could nullify a teams gold lead (6-0 immobile adc's getting 1 shot by an Akali) in team fights & the pick potential late game can be a huge factor, and they're just so damn fun. However, picking a 5 assassin team would not be superior to a regular comp due to anti-assassin factors such as tanks, crowd control, overall peel Janna TahmKench , item 3026 item 3157 , summoner 3 or any scenario where sustained damage would beat out burst.

Problem is tanks aren't durable enough to counter assassins if they remotely fall behind.

Being able to one shot someone means a basic guarantee of removing an enemy from the enemy team. But that's usually all they can bring and their usefulness hinges whether on if they can pull it off or not.

This factors are effected by if they are ahead or behind and how the enemy team works.

Champions like Orianna may not be able to one shot, but she helps her team in other ways. Mainly defense and positioning (she can help a one shotter by holding their target since one shotting champions like the utility to keep the enemy still).

So Diana doesn't offer more because she can one shot, but she's still useful. Orianna doesn't offer less because she can't one shot.

As for team comp, a full 5 man one shot team isn't that great because they lack utility and would lose teamfights quickly if they couldn't each focus a different target (and even then, it's rare to see someone that can one shot a tank, so the enemy tank could still peel for their carry).

A comp that has lots of utility will usually lack the damage to cap on it, but I've seen some pretty CC heavy teams dish out a massive amount of damage.

Elise is also closer to a damage champion than utility. So if she's on a team with people that can keep targets from running (like Morganna) then she'll be able to remove targets.

TL:DR. A team of 5 carries is not inherently superior to a well balanced team.

No he can't. Stop misleading people. The only thing he can do is half health a squishy target with no health items and that's only if he itemizes for it.

All of those items are damage items, still a moot point.

No, Orianna has the potential to disrupt an entire team, with enough burst and peel for herself. The thing about most assassins, is that they have to get in the thick of thngs and often dont come out, assassins more or less, run out of resets, lose cooldowns etc. But comparing them is awkward because they serve two different purposes. Thats like comparing an adc, to a top laner, sure one can be stronger than the other, but they serve different purposes

Because one shotting is the only thing they have. AKA, if they fail, they're useless. Most oneshotting is also only single target or small range AOE. Said oneshotters are also incredibly squishy, and most are bad at anything else (CSing until late, splitpushing, tower defending, objectives, etc)

Others have variety of utility or other fields they can help in.

Diana can't one shot anyone. Not one part of her kit does anywhere close to 1500 damage on one hit.

I main Diana and I live on one shotting people late game... You can actually one-shot if you're ahead and you build full AP
