part of it is because everyone whines its OP, and they saw it in lcs, so everyone does it because its the cool thing to do

Tabi is good against things OTHER than lethality. Like every champion in the game who auto attacks. Or has on hit effects. Or has AD scaling. Or Towers.

it's just cheap defense

maybe AD is too strong overall, and not just lethality maybe thats why

Or tabi is just overtuned

12% AA damage reduction for literally nothing (ninja tabi is over 100% gold efficient) is just ridiculous. EDIT: 99.999% of teams will have an AA focused champion on them, so unless the meta shifts completely away from AA champions entirely, Ninja tabi will always be a good buy unless something better replaces it or it is nerfed.

Purely lethality PTSD. Nothing more.

Either that or wearing the boots causes pleasant fantasies of being a ninja.

That's probably just because it's "meta"

I've seen people rush sunfire cape against an AP top laner because sunfire was OP.

Aatrox naturally has ALWAYS played better with tabis...

Its been a thing since before this new tabi meta

Just saying

Ninja tabis might be overtuned right now (idk), but it was never intended to only be purchased if the enemy team was running heavy armor pen.

Its purpose is to give you a a cheap source of armor/damage reduction. Just like how merc treads are there to give you a cheap source of MR/tenacity. It has always been good against heavy AD teams, even before the lethality overbuffs.
