Why can't we just replace Conqueror with good old Fervor of Battle?

Conqueror has been a trouble since early 2018. Meanwhile no one really complained about Fervor back in 2017. Tell me why not to return it back?

Give it true dmg and we can make a deal, don't and we are right back to tanks in top...

I would love fervor back instead of conq. Too bad riot doesn’t actually care and they don’t know how their game works. A riot employee actually admitted to be hard stuck in silver.

Fervor would be great to have back, but by now it's a bit to late to just revert Conq to Fervor and expect everything to be ok. Champions have been altered, items have been altered, all due to the influence of Conqueror, and without a mid-season tier update patch to address everything that got changed, it'll just be the same old same old. Its not like you can just revert those changes either, since with Fervor back, other champions would also need to be adjusted for it being stronger on them than conqueror is for them (stuff like Yasuo/Fiora), and then you'd need to find a good balance for items.

The whole thing would be a mess, and it's honestly too much of a hassle for it to happen outside of a pre-season or mid-season. Conq's basically a conglomerate of everything that a top lane bruiser would need, but its understatted in all areas, if that makes sense. Basically imagine that the rune effectively is three effects put in to one (damage stacking, tank killing, healing), but all those effects are gimped to compensate, Jack of all Trades master of None style, making it's best abusers those who benefit from all of those, while champions who only benefit from 1 aspect of it (in a major way), kinda get screwed since theres no other option for them to take, so they just kinda have to deal with it.

Examples of Champs who benefit from everything Conq does: Riven Jax RekSai

Examples of Champs who benefit from one or two things from Conq: Fiora Kled Olaf

What we can learn from this is that champions need specialized runes, as opposed to runes that do multiple things to a mediocre level. Ideally, what many top lane mains, myself included, would like is for Conqueror to be split into different runes that each do something it's supposed to do, but to a stronger degree, instead of being forced to make do with a mediocre all-rounder that gets abused to shit on champions who can use it to it's fullest.

Also just quietly because everyone seems to forget. Fervor was a bit of a nightmare because shit like Tank Ekko and Tank Yasuo would abuse it for damage whilst building full tank.

Because it kills rune diversity. Like basically every adc would take it, almost every top would take it. It also is too similar to press the attack. There is no reason to bring it back.

Because tanks were broken pre conq and autofills could go even with the best toplaners in the world. Tanks take absolutely no skill and no toplaner that actually wants to climb wants a stone wall that keeps you from laning or playing the game.

because riot likes being unique and adding broken mechanics to the game

Guess what? That's what they're doing.

It was much better on champs who used a lot of AAs, compared to champs who use a lot of abilities.

Because if that happened, not only we would get a forced tank meta again but also adcs will now have a perfect rune and trust me, you don't want to see vayne with fervor of battle in your game again.
