Can anyone at Riot answer a question for me? What do you see as problematic with Swain?

Now, everyone has their own opinions, but one that really matters is the opinion of Riot, and I'd like to know what you, Riot, think is problematic with Swain, and what you consider should be reworked. I'd also greatly appreciate what you consider is a great fit for him, like, what you believe will stay. Now, of course, I know that his rework may be a year or even two years from even being worked on, so I understand anything said(typed) cannot be considered gospel, as plans change.

I'm not expecting a Rioter to give a response, I'm just hopeful that someone may come by and answer.

The problem is quite frankly his ult, it turns him into a tanky mage monster with a permanent vlad Q that is constantly being used on everyone around him, it is quite possibly the best AOE ultimate in the game.

Kat, Zac, Blitz, Leona, Rumble, Wukong, Kennen, etc.

Atleast he's fully DoT and easilly bursted along with immobility. Its not AoE I think, it just affects up to 3 targets.

And its basiclly another non-ult spell, so they tune down his other spells and he has no super strong ult like Brand or Illaoi or Ekko or Olaf.

If they rework him, I hope its like the Shen update were I miss alot of things (Such as lifetap and AP/AS shen) but I like the new Shen more. I hope they keep his DoT, sustain, and decent CC. Also his ult is sick looking along with his beatrice interaction is pretty cool.

Swain is very easy to fight against currently. His counters leave him utterly helpless unlike a normal champ who's counters will just make life difficult on them and require high skill to stay even. Against those he goes even with, he's going to be weaker if they stay even or get ahead until he gets two full ap items which gives them plenty of opportunity to gain the advantage if they play smart. However against those he does counter, he's pretty freaking scary since once he does get ahead and start getting his items, then he becomes insanely powerful. A fed Swain can carry a game hard. He is just ridiculously difficult to get anywhere without going against a counter.

Swain being referred as the "Master of Tactician". Except the fact that his kit is really straight-forward, such as always the EQW combo and then go full-bird mode in the end hoping it's enough to kill a guy.

What I'm expecting is all of his kit getting changed in some way, except his ult.

First of all, his kit doesn't fit his theme at all, like the guy above me said. His kit is a very poor representation of the "Master Tactician", without anything interesting to play around, for either him or his opponents.

Second of all, he's also extremely oppressive to play against with very little counterplay if your champion doesn't outrange him. He's testicular cancer against melee champions, and is basically a magic-using stat ball ala Xin Zhao or Irelia.
